Per ESPN, Vin Baker was released by the Celtics to avoid paying him 36 million over the next few years. The Players Association is expected to file a grievance. Would the Rockets be interested in picking him up? Thats a lot of cash to pick up.
i think atl waived doleac today. id rather pursue him. would be nice to have a real back up at the 5, rather than sliding cato over, and even having stretches where pagett or mot are covering center.
I was just going to mention that. He is averaging 5 points and 4 boards a game. Seems like a good pickup. NY Post announced that the Knicks are going to resign him though.
Sorry I need to correct myself. Cato is the natural 5 who has been slid over to the 4. I typed Mo T. instead of Cato.
yeah...hes starting now. spells yao about 15 mins at center night in night out, combined with his minutes at the 4. a back up big man to take 8-10 mins would help out our rotation immensely.
Baker wasn't dependable for the Celtics who were paying him nearly $13m. Why would anyone thing he'd be dependable for the Rockets $354k?
