I have NBA League Pass and mostly have to watch other broadcasters call the game, and it really shows that Calvin and Bill are the best in the biz. The other commentators are so freak'n boring and they try to analyze every part of the game.
No, you're not the only one. Bill Brown is boring as hell and is a master at stating the obvious. Worrell, while often states the obvious, makes some good points and is usually accurate with his predictions of what will happen next (curveball, hit and run...etc.)
Me too. I have League Pass and they've only shown a couple Rockets broadcasts with Bill & Calvin. When I was in Houston I thought B&C were somewhat irritating, but after watching most of the Rox games (and other nba games) on LP, I've come to appreciate B&C. They are hands down the liveliest and most funny pair of nba commentators in the league. Hilarious!!
Living in Austin, I miss B&C....we never get to see them, as for League Pass showing mainly the opposing team commentors....hmmmm...conspriacy baby....come on Bill" Fe Fi Fo Dumb" Walton supposedly runs or is the spokesperson for NBA League Pass.(joking, but makes you think.)
i would not be suprised if what franchise403 said was right about the fox contract- the ratio is so uneven, its the only thing that makes sense (along w/how many of the lp games are done by fox). i wonder if these guys are the chick hearns of tv announcers. anyone know of a pair thats broadcast longer?
I don't know of any other TV duos but Gene Peterson, the "Voice of the Houston Rockets" is in his 29th season on Sports Radio 610. Jim Foley is in his 17th season as the analyst.
I've noticed that Rockets fans are the only ones that seem to enjoy Bill and Calvin...most fans of other teams on League Pass can't stand them. Of course, it's almost the same way with Rockets fans and other teams' announcers....
Calvin & Bill rock... they seem to have a really genuine bond personally. They crack me up with their back-and-forth... well mainly at Calvin's expense, but at least he's real. BTW, Bill Walton aside, Murph seems to be Yao's biggest supporter in the commentary booth.
