Barry and Radmanovic would be perfect fit here. I would do that even at the cost of Mo. Barry and Radmanovic can and will take 3's and with a lineup of Barry, Francis, Radmanovic, Cato, Ming with Mobley 6th man, it would be raining 3's all over the court.
I wouldn't make the trade. There is nothing good about acquiring Croshere. He's just a mediocre player like Taylor and Paggett. The Rox should pursuit big time player over the summer like Rasheed Wallace. Don't get anymore mediocre players and wasting your $$$.
All we need..........is......... Mario Elie.... find one guy with that kind of heart...and championship here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not that I in any way endorse either of these moves, but how does Mo Taylor give us a shooting threat out to just inside the three point line. I concede that he is the second best shooting big man on our team, but he hits abut as many shots outside of teh 10-15 circle around the basket as Kelvin Cato does (who, though I always cringe, will occasionally hit a jumper) - now maybe Mo should shoot it more even further out, but the majority of his points come from post up moves towards the basket.
Have you even watched the Rockets play this season. Most of Mo's points have come off 10 to 15ft jumpers off screen and rolls are inside outside passing.
Seriously!!! Unless of course I've just been dreaming about Mo hitting 10-15 jumpers on a regular basis.
Just curious -- if Cro can't get off Indy's bench, why would they want MoT to sit on their bench instead? Wouldn't trading for a guy, then sitting him, make bad karma on the team? These guys' positions are so similar as to bring into question why anyone, except for that great NYer, PeVe, to put any credence into this.
Either deal (Cato or MoT for Croshere) sucks. There is no reason to do it. MoT hits the outside shot (maybe not 3's) consistently. We already have Padgett. What would be the point of trading either for someone who can't get off the bench in the Eastern Conference?
if we took Croshere's contract we would have to make sure at least Bender is included... or maybe add more on our part and go after Harrington plus Croshere
getting Harrington would be perfect for the Rox, he is a tall, long, athletic guy who can defend and shoot the rock. exactly what the rox need, but there is no way the rox could get him. anyway, no trades are going to happen(if we believe cd).
Harrington is a player, Croshere isn't. If we take Croshere off their hands, they need to give us Harrington. They can have Mo and Cato, or Mo and Cat. Cat's playing pretty well, but I'd give him up for Harrington. Harrington is taller, stronger, younger, and fills a bigger hole. I'd rather shop for a journeyman back up center, and get some talent at forwards. Our forwards aren't starters, or a good fit. A good alternative would be Donyell Marshall for Cato. Toronto is supposed to be desperate for a big man. Cato lets Bosh play 4, Jalen play 3, VC play 2. perfect. Marshall is a good spare part. They can send him to us. Marshall has a good all around game and would complement Ming. He can rebound, pass, shoot, and play a little d. He'd be a nice 3 here.
everyone is focusing on the cro rumor. what about the mckie rumor? i know mo for mckie wont work. who else could it be? he would be a perfect fit IMO. he can play the 1 or the 2 he can do a little scoring and play a whoe lot of D.
He must have good sources to be talking about this...... It's going to be the biggest mistake if that happens...
Who's PT would McKie take? He is a non-fit here. Trade Cat for Harrington -- makes sense both ways -- and move JJax to the 2. Move Mo to Seattle, as previously mentioned, for Rado and Barry. Those deals make sense for all involved.
if your not being sarcastic (sarcasm detector off today) you obviously dont know Vecsey's reputation. Vecsey is wrong on almost everything he vomits onto his article.
No Thanks. McKie's numbers are a bit down this year, but more importantly he's getting old and his skills are drying up. He wouldn't start over Cat at the 2 or JJ at the 3...So, why go big for small if it doesn't make you any better or deeper??? We already have a number of '2/3 tweeners' - See JJ, Pike, AG... It would be a big mistake IMHO. MoT is a starter on many teams in the NBA (esp. the East)...His trade value is much higher than an Aaron McKie or Austin Croshere...Vecsey's a clown.
Austin Croshere has made a living out of a hot shooting streak that he hit in the 2000 Finals, right before he became a free agent. Since then he's been absolutely worthless. Aaron McKie's best days are behind him, and he'd be useless trying to chase around the likes of Kobe, Sprewell, and 'Melo.
