The Rockets are not going anywhere with the present roster we have. There will have to be some major changes in the roster itself, plus the mental attitude of this team. Like the owner said, we need to develop a "Killer Instinct" attitude and start stepping on and cutting not only golden state warriors throat, but everybody's throat and cutting them. We're not scrappier enough, we don't rebound enough, we don't have enough three point shooters. We don't have a lot of stuff on this team and that includes the players and possibly the coaches as well. James Harden can't continually carry this team on his back day in and day out. Eventually, your back will wear out. As much as I love Chris Paul, he has seen his better days. I'm sorry, but the position he plays which is the point, he looks old, slow and tired. We as an organization, need to find some kind of way or opportunity to dump his salary. Paul is just no longer doing it for us at that spot. We need a younger point guard with energy, smarts, defensive minded, and able to shoot 3's as well. I keep hearing Jimmy Butler. We can't count on him leaving the 76ers, especially if his team advances to the eastern conference finals. James Harden is not completely without fault. He can create sometimes a lot of costly turnovers, which in turn for the most part, is due to his dribbling exhibitions. All of us know he can dribble. He needs to cut that out and pass the ball more if he doesn't have an open shot. He also needs to make better decisions on the court. What I mean by that is, if the three is not there, move in a little closer and get the two. Two points is better than nothing at all. We need a "Dennis Rodman" mentality on this team, minus the personality. Ask Michael Jordan.
We just need to do a lot of soul searching this offseason and ask ourselves, are we worthy of being champions. How bad do we want it? Are we willing to make the sacrifices and put in the work? We are a good team, but we need to strive to be a great team, a championship team. These are the questions we need to ask ourselves when we look in that mirror, am I doing all I can to help this team, this organization, my team mates, and last but not least, myself.

MDA/Morey/Tilmann has solution: get more players from G-League and never go into luxury tax.;)

based on advanced stats, there's plenty of gleague and euroleague players that are sufficient enough to replace ariza and any other role player we lose, including gordon. /delusional nerds

I agree that this team needs more fire and competitors in role positions. But I'm not 100% sure this needed a brand new thread!

I can help. His post was a rehash of pretty much every Rockets criticism posted on CF over the last couple of months, all wrapped up into one nice, neat package. Nothing new.

I miss the days when we were the 9th seed consistently and people had a real reason to complain.

Harden isn't a victim. If you take the ball out his hands, he still has to cut or stay in a shooting position, and not stand by halfcourt looking disinterested. The problem is he wants the ball to get his numbers. So getting more playmakers is pointless

That's besides the point. It's not about me. I'm not making the millions of dollars these players make. I'm making a case for the fans, or at least some of the fans. We deserve a lot better.

I don't have a problem with what you said, but sometimes desperate calls require desperate measures. I'm only approaching this from a fan point of view, not anyone else. I'm just stating my observation being that I'm a huge rockets fan, and whether or not this requires a new thread or not, that's a matter of opinion.

Thank you. It's just my observation and perspective on what I saw this season. I'm not saying these guys don't work hard, but it just seems to me we're being out worked when it comes to competing with other teams and wanting it bad enough. That to me is a mental thing.

You made the argument for me. Harden, standing around looking disinterested if the ball is not in his hands. This is exactly the problem and with the system we have installed with MDA. We need to stop depending on James so much and keep the ball moving. It's still too much iso ball going on with him. Instead, he needs to get his teammates more involved and keep the ball moving. He's going to get his numbers, but his numbers haven't translated into a championship in which the city of Houston desperately needs.

There is a lot right about the Rockets, but compared to the Warriors, there is a lot wrong.

ISO ball is the ONLY way to play with James because if the ball isn't in his hands he's not moving off the ball. So you're basically playing 4 on 5. He's not gonna buy into any other system. Also stop blaming our system on MDA, he knows how to implement a free flowing offense. This crap we're running is 100% Moreyball. MDA is essentially running with Morey wants
