I haven't recovered from my sadness yet. What are we doing? What should we do? We have the ability to get it, but at the same time we have not the ability to get it. Do we really need to make big changes?
We can't go on, we'll go on. This season certainly has a feeling of absurdist theatre about it. Especially this playoff series. This is the first time I've ever wondered if NBA basketball is really just wrestling. Maybe we are watching a finely scripted drama whose outcome is already determined.
I agree with you. I think since Adam Silver came to power, I think the NBA has become more and more like WWE, and everything seems to be scripted. The referee is just Silver's puppet, and they can decide arbitrarily on all kinds of ambiguous or controversial penalties in the game, which is very ugly to manipulate the game. Is this just my illusion?
Change your expectations and you won’t be as sad in situations like this. The rockets are a really good team that has some good players. They will consistently win 50+ games in the regular season. They will consistently make the playoffs, and even win a round. They will give you many exciting moments in the regular season. But they just won’t win a championship. Soon as you accept that, the better your viewing experience will be.
