He is projected to go top 8. But if he has a bad workout then he will slip. Jamal Crawford was projected to be a late second round pick then after the workouts his stock went up to lottery material.

Where is a good place to find out whose "stock" is rising? I hear this term all the time, but I don't know how to find out (save this BBS) who is doing well and who is not... would JuanValdez's website have this info? Have any workout camps begun yet, or do they wait until closer to the draft?

Workouts usually start right after the finals. So check NBAtalk.com or basketballphenoms.com the second week in June.

Woods will be in our reach if we move up about 3-4 spots.

With so many "Sure things" and long term prospects, talented players like Forte, Woods, and Wallace will fall greatly because of weaknesses in certain parts of their games.

Loren Woods?I rather have Jefferson...Loren didn't really show me anything this past year.He had some bright spots, but I think Jefferson would be a much better pickup then Woods.I mean Woods is aight,He should have left before his senior year, now his stock has dropped a little since he didn't come out.I still think Shane Battier is the best pickup for us,if we can get him someway.Peace

    hell nawwww!!!!

loren woods is tissue paper soft, AND has no shot. dude is like 7', 185#. he started at wake forest with a VERY promising career and failed there behind timmy. then he transferred to arizona and has done absolutely nothing to impress, outside of being tall.

    no post move.
    no jump shot.
    no heart.
    no bulk.
    no desire.

    sound familiar?

just call loren the "green hornet"

Woods has an excellent shot for a big man and excellent footwork. Don't kid yourself. The guy shot 80% from the free throw line. He doesn't have three point range, or anything much past the FT line, but does have 10-12 foot range. You make Woods sound like he's Cato offensively. Woods, assuming Ming doesn't come out, is probably the best offensive center in the draft, and is coming off a very talented Arizona team. His back to the basket game lacks some, but has an excellent face up game (think Mo Taylor in that sense, though their moves are nothing alike). Woods needs to bulk up. Whether you think he has heart and desire is your own opinion. If he was given the ball more in the 2nd half of the Finals, Zona would'be made a better game out of it, Arenas and Gardner weren't getting him the ball and he was on.

You're not going to get a perfect player at #13. There's going to be something that's not perfect, and it's a risk you have to take.

Nike, that's a good point about the 13th pick. If the Rocks don't trade up, I think what I would like to see happen is one of the young guys with great potential fall to the 13 pick. Then, hopefully, taking a long term approach, the Rocks draft the young future star.

My fear is that we draft someone who is more mature like Battier or Murphy and the Rocks improve by several games and make the playoffs, but get in a rut of being better, but not good enough to contend for a championship, like say Phoenix.

Is Woods better suited to be a forward, al la Robert Horry who also played center in college.

I agree with Nikes assesment of Woods except for the fact that you think Arizona would have fared better if the gave Woods the ball more. However I still would not want him on my team. If he is the best available 5 left when the Rockets pick I would either trade down or just go with the best 3 or 4. Hes way too soft for the west and would be too expensive of a pick at #13.
