For those that dont already know, I moved back to Houston from Austin a few weeks ago. I took a job with the 2nd largest homebuilder in the nation doing consumer internet marketing. It doesnt pay crap really, and Im going to have to sell my beloved 4Runner , but its Marketing for the love of all that is holy and sacred - and thats what makes Drewdog a happy puppy. Basically I have a job where I email and do website marketing stuff all day. I dont know how much time I will devote to posting because I dont have time at work to play around - plus I type non-stop all damn day so my fingers hurt (yes even using one of those dumb looking ergonomic keyboards). When I get home from work and have some free time, the last thing I want to look at is a computer screen, and the 2nd to the last thing I want to do is type. Dont everyone cry at once - I'll be around, but it may only be once in a while. Anyone in Houston that wants to drink a cold beer and watch sports, call me at 832-754-9546 or e: akmiller50@yahoo.com - and dont give me a p***y excuse that your girlfriend wont let you - thats lame.
Ha! Next time you come to H-town we'll have to have a few Smeg - make up for lost time. Not heckling anyone in particular - just dont want to hear people talk a big game - then give me a last minute excuse that they have to hit up Bed Bath & Beyond with their significant other.....
Drew, I'm in Houston now too, we'll go down a few sometime, maybe an h-town rockets/astros/nba playoffs gathering.
You know I would pretend I was excited that you were back - but I freaking hate your guts - Sugar Lump.
Mmmmm...Frenchy's. Let's have a Rockets viewing party w/ some Frenchy's and Shiner Bock. RMT and MadMax have a special place in my cyber heart for their love and appreciation of Frenchy's.
If you don't love Frenchy's fried chicken, you aren't a real Houstonian, except if you have the vegetarian thang going for you like Jeff! And that's the word, thunderbird!
agreed..what's not to like? sure, my arteries are rock solid...but damn it, i'm going down blazin'. few things match fried chicken from frenchy's. very few things. i don't get to enjoy frenchy's as much as i used to...but it's truly a houston institution.
I hear ya. I'll be 43 in a couple of weeks, and I can't eat Frenchy's as often as I used to, but every once in a while, it is a nice indulgence and brings back memories of growing up in Houston. Plus, I can't go without getting some red beans n'rice and collard greens! And a sweet potato pie if I want to be really bad!
You arent missing anything. Its in the "historic" fifth ward. I was working over at Haliburton and we went there one time. When we went in a dude that looked like Easy E came up to us and told us that he never wanted to see our asses in there again. I said, "Okey dokey" and we left. The chicken wasnt all that great either.
