Maybe because GS has 5 All-Stars they can go to for points when they need them, and they share the load. The Rockets need Harden to initiate ANY offense in this ISO system. CP3 can't get it done anymore. Who else can get their own shot, or penetrate and set up someone else? EG is a shooter, not a great facilitator. PJ is a spot-up shooter. Capela can only dunk (and then only if wide open). Shumpert and Rivers aren't efficient scorers or facilitators. Harden made a lot of good, smart plays in the 4th quarter. This loss wasn't on him. The loss is on CP3 and Capela. CP3 played hard, but terrible. Capela played scared and timid for most of the game.
Thank you I totally agree. It falls on capella and Paul . Didn't realize harden wasn't shooting until the game was over. Not my job too its dantoni or someone on the coaching staff. Also playing capella in the second half was just dumb
Rest of the team has to make plays. The dagger was actually by Green with that 3. That's what iced the game.
Curry wasn't involved in the play, was way out front. That was from a Klay drive and *strong-side* kick, and PJ was close for a close-out. It was an uncharacteristic, quick, catch-n-shoot attempt and make by Draymond, imo.
Harden "taking himself out of the play" actually means "Harden pulling his defender way out of the play." It's part of the Rockets' offense at times and it has worked pretty well in this series.
Riiiiiight. It makes perfect sense that Harden would quit in a close game like this, with their star player out with an injury and the Rockets having a good shot at putting this series almost out of reach. I mean, if you're not going to quit in THAT situation, when would you quit, right?
I believe they got Paul 3 times for that same offensive foul call during game. Not sure I have ever seen that called on the same player 3 times in a game before.
This is exactly what’s happening. Slow the pace and try to limit turnovers to keep those assholes from destroying us with fast break baskets all game.
They called that a few other times during the game. Once on Tucker, I think, and maybe Rivers? In every case, the defender was moving. Doesn't automatically make it NOT a foul, but they all seemed questionable.
Honestly I only had a gripe with 2 of the 3 they called on Chris. A lot of moving and flopping on 2 of them for sure.
Golden State ran a zone on HARDEN Defensive 3 seconds no longer enforced. The way to break that is someone else to hit shots. Rocket River
Yeah, but we were behind with little time left, and he still did that. He didn't look very urgent. In one of the plays toward the end, he waited just a few feet across the mid court until about 9 seconds left on the shot clock before he made a move. I was thinking, "What are you doing taking so much time?"
Not to mention the one Klay stepped out of bound when trapped. Overall the officiating was somewhat fair. But those were some critical miscalls toward the end.
