Paul lost this with his pathetic display of playmaking

Cp3 contract can’t be traded. We need to look to trade Capela and maybe EG for a second star player or we’re becoming a mediocre team very soon. Tucker aging, Cp3 declining each year. We can’t keep a player on that money and just to catch a few lobs and play soft when it matters. Sorry but we can get this type of contribution from McGee type of center.

Of course we still have a chance to win this series but Capela needs to go if we don’t want to become a mediocre team in 2 years left with old cp3, minimum role players and a soft copy of Deandre Jordan around Harden. And obviously no cap space and picks to work around with anything except the MLE. We will become totally a one man team. Which we saw how it ends when Harden gets gassed.

It's sad but I agree. Eric Gordon is a better player than CP3 at this stage. Eric Gordon is a really good player who would be a desired addition to any team trying to win a ring but he isn't 'second best player on a championship team' good. It's a problem that Gordon has all of sudden become our second best player.

    This.

I've been a huge Harden defender for years. Hell, last night I posted about how much he has changed for the better, but tonight reminded me of old Harden. The guy who used to get tired and give the ball up and do nothing.

Tired is no excuse. And if he was getting double teamed (which did happen once) then that is even better because the rest of the guys would get to play 4 on 3.

Whatever excuse people are trying to come up with, its bogus.

At least Daryl Morey will be able to slaughter the buffet line in style with his new deal.

If the rockets lose this series, I put it on everything I’m done with Chris Paul.

    I don’t care when he scored 26 points on the Kings next year, I’m D O N E.

Could not have come at a worst time, last year he was injured so what's his excuse this year for game 6 and potentially 7 if he lays another one or two stinkers?

No, CP3 played like **** tonight when we needed him the most. He missed a ton of games in the RS and should be ready.

We should buy him out. Take a one time hit, cut the losses, and move on

I keep hoping the playoff CP3 will magically show up. But seems like it was just wishful thinking. He done

Not an overreaction at all. I agree.

CP3 is sloppy with the ball. He makes lazy and stupid passes in a situation where you have to be laser focused.

I blame him more than any other player or coach for that matter.

    It’s depressing

This is probably the Rockets last best chance because of Paul’s contract. They need to win RIGHT NOW because he’s not going to get any better and neither is that stupid contract.

He can't beat anyone off the dribble. It's disheartening. One year ago from last night he had 41 points. 41 POINTS 0 TURNOVER.

He was early in the season. His pisspoor play was a big reason the Rockets got off to such a slow start. He did play much better once he came back from the hammy injury, but his jumper has been far less effective this year, especially the 3-pointer. He's actually still pretty good at the midrange, but for whatever reason he goes away from it too often.

Regardless, I'm done with excuses. I know he just turned 34, but the dude took off a third of the season. He shouldn't be THIS tired that he can't do better than 3-14 in a pivotal game that could've all but locked up the series for the Rockets. Harden's doing his part. Gordon's mostly doing his. It's time for CP3 to stop being CP0 and show the hell up.

That's Game 4 last season. He still gets more than 90% of those looks. There are only a couple of possessions here which require him to outright beat his man off the dribble or jump a certain height.

He is just not going hard. He is timid, hesitant, distracted on offense. He is hardly slower on defense and switches and rebounds.

He's not aggressive. He's not decisive on offense. He's not shooting when he's open. I do not accept that that's an age issue at all, this is a confidence issue which is totally in his control. No one cares if he can't single handedly steal 2 games anymore. He can do more than this by getting his swag up and remembering that he's lucky to be in this position.

I think if you look at physical regression from last season pretty much explains his alarming drop off

If they go down this series, you have to cross your fingers that no FAs go to the Lakers, they can't pull of a "big" type trade, and you can talk them into trading for CP3. But I'm not sure the Lakers would even do that as you'd be forcing them to use cap space (trading him into cap space).

There's really not any other team you can envision taking his contract. Maybe Charlotte, if they lose Kemba, and they have contracts you could take back, but not sure you really want those either (Marvin, Zeller, Batum)
