Anyone watch this "miniseries" on the ESPNs? I'm totally hooked. I like to gamble in casinos...usually blackjack or craps, but after watching the 2003 WSOP, I wanna start up a neighborhood game and start practicing. Hell, if Moneymaker got the $10 grand entry fee waived by winning a $40 internet tourney, I could do the same thing. And I'm just naive and goofy enough to make it to the money tables. One question though....are blinds required for all Texas Hold Em rules?
Yes, blinds are always required. Just think if there were never blinds you could always just sit around for a pair of aces to show up without ever having to bet. BTW, Pokerstars this week just started their satallites to the World Series of Poker if anyones interested. I'm going to enter a few and try to pull me a Moneymaker.
Has any one event ever been re-run this many times? (by the way, I was ticked off last night when the restaurant/bar I was in switched the channel. They wanted some of the TVs on the All-Star game, of course, but they completely changed the channel on all the ones that had been showing the European Figure Skating Championships. Yet they were still showing that same old, tired WSOP on the other TVs. Not that I expect much sympathy from you guys on this. )
The World Series of Poker 2004 begins in May. Two weekends back, I was flying SWA from Nashville, TN to Porltand, OR. I changed planes in Las Vegas. Chris Moneymaker, his wife and daughter were on the plane with me, and his wife sat on my row. She said he was going to Reno, NV for a tournament. She also mentioned her husband is writing a book. Sorry, no pics.
