I don't know folks, but The Knickerbockers'chances of winning a title this season are getting slimmer, in my opinion. watching the first three games, I don't see any intensity out there, just a bunch of pushing and shoving, and add to that Marcus Camby's situation with his family being taken hostage( Maybe Marcus will be the spark in game 4, if he plays.) Charlie Ward has used the locker room as his pulpit all season long, but has taken it to another level by criticizing Jews and their beliefs. "They still persecute Christians to this day....They had Jesus' blood on their hands....." ?? Charlie, this is NBA basketball here, not An Evening with Jimmy Swaggert. The media here eats this stuff up, so of course they blame all of these soap opera episodes as the real reason why the KNicks aint winnin. LJ is out, Sprewell isn't shooting well, and Rice and Houston are playing regular season basketball. They might make it out of the first round against the Raptors, but it will be a cold day in the subways in May if they even make it past the Sixers/Pacers, Bucks/Hornets. Don't get me wrong, I am an anti- Knick, pro- Rocket.( When they lost game 2 to Toronto I wore my Rockets shirt for good luck, and I got a kiss from a random girl in the bar ) but i am following the drama that ensues ------------------ right on
I don't think the Knicks problem is as serious as it looks. Camby will be back for Game 4 as well. ------------------ See the three, be the three.
And if Rice plays like he did last game, the Knicks just might beat the sixers/pacers. ------------------ "Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored."- (Aldous Huxley)
Seems like their is a crisis every year for NY in the playoffs. Just seems like they are one of the teams that overcomes & surprises each year.
they have to survive game 5 in the Garden first . Camby in Game 4: 4 points, 4 boards, 4 fouls= 33 min ------------------ Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
I was at tonight's game and came home totally shocked at the Knicks lacklustre performance. They didn't display the desire, toughness or mental fortitude the franchise has become known for over the past decade. They relied way too heavily on their outside shot and let a less-than-stellar Raptor performance make Toronto look like an elite team. Camby is clearly distracted and isn't showing any of the heart or energy he's shown all year. If goes to game 5 with the same mindset he had tonight and the last game, he should himself and his team a favour by not showing up again. He's got more important issues to deal with. Camby shouldn't be playing right now, there's no sane person who could keep performing under the circumstances that he's been put under. ------------------ Founder and President of the Houston Homers Club(HHC) - Are you a homer? Join now! The Rockets will be NBA champions. Believe.

this is the Knicks favorite situation...don't count 'em out! ------------------ "Considering Mobley for His First Son's Name"
Lol, my brother from Down Under. I guess I thought with the play-offs here and the impending off-season ready to explode, I'd end my posting hiatus. Besides, I realized this board needed a regular Canadian presence aboard to keep it humble. Azim da Dream ------------------ Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. And the drama ends . knicks go down quietly in the first round. ------------------ Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
Is Van Gundy history? ------------------ "Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored."- (Aldous Huxley)
I think Van Gundy's quite safe. Sprewell, meanwhile, didn't waste any time in kicking off his "trade some of my teammates for Chris Webber" campaign: "There were times when I felt I had to carry the load for our team," a visibly upset Sprewell said. "It was on my shoulders. I left it all out there on the floor and I'm exhausted right now. I don't know if everybody left it all out on the floor." ------------------
Swopa, Do you post at any GS BBS sites? Mango ------------------ Get it right or just don't do it! Resistance is futile....you will be assimilated.
Yeah, a couple ... but I wouldn't recommend checking them out, 'cause the signal-to-noise ratio leans pretty heavily toward the noise end. Which is why I come to ClutchCity.net for quality hoops chat. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Swopa (edited May 05, 2001).]
