    Baking a Potatos...

I am pretty sure this has been asked before, but I am too hungry and impacient to spend time searching for the old thread.

    Sooo...

How long do you back a potato in the microwave? or in the oven? I searched it in Google but just about everything that came up was about a recipe involving baked potatoes, and they seem to think I already know how to bake a potato.

I know that microwave is suposed to take less time, so I am hoping to do it that way.

I read somewhere that in the oven it should be about 400F, not sure of the time. Around an hour I think.

I want to cook it in a microwave. Anybody know how long I should cook it in there, and on the high power setting?

    Thanks...

Man asking this makes me feel like an idiot.

First, you have to spell Potato right, not like Dan Quale...Then, in a microwave, I usually do it for about 5 min. on each side, but make sure you clean it and poke holes in it...

I swear moestavern19 is part of some kind of weird potato police or something, because I think he busted me a while back for the same violation. Great work 19. :)

what's with using sea salt? Would regular salt turn into chlorine or something?

I knew I read a potato thread some time in the near past. But hey, the hunger was calling for my potato to be cooked.

looks like I am not the only guy with a spelling handicap.

Just cook it until it's done. If it is soft enough to easily jab a fork into, then it's ready.

wash the potato, poke holes in it with a fork or knife (don't cut yourself) then stick it in the nuker, when you can stick your fork in it effortlessly, it's done. turn the potato and if you can, keep it moist.. put a wet paper towel on it.
