This is one thing that doesn’t bother me a bit. Tiger is a great example of American exceptionalism and is arguably the best thing to happen to golf, and not just American golf, since Arnie and Jack. Tiger winning the Masters was remarkable at his age and especially considering the physical issues he had to defeat in order to have a chance at playing at a high level, much less winning. Sure, his personal problems are troubling, but not something many regular guys haven’t had to deal with. Trouble in a marriage, driving when he shouldn’t have. Reportedly, trump and Tiger are friends, which makes the award even less surprising. I have huge issues with trump and his domestic and foreign policies, and today, 400 American prosecutors signed a letter saying that had trump been anything except the president, he would be charged with a felony for obstruction. This has nothing to do with any of that.

Congratulations, Tiger. Well deserved. In your own way, you are an American hero, a word thrown around too often these days.
