I noticed that some restaurant's ban vaping.
Cannot be because of second hand smoke?

I mean . . .its annoying but second hand smoke is why tobacco was banned
    but I don't understand vaping

I don't vape . .. .and am not pro or con
but .. . just curious about the the motivation behind banning it

I vape, but I would say most people probably don't want smoke near them or have to deal with the very strong aromas.

Because it smells like someone lit a cheap fruit loops scented candle.

Is it bad for those around you ?

ok. I have not been around them enough to notice
    but
At its inception . . .as bad as tobacco smelled it was not enough to ban it
Only when second hand smoke became a thing . . . .was it possible

I wondered why Vaping was now the bane of everyone's existence

    Putting
Nothing! If I owned a restaurant, I'd want some of the fattest cloud rippers in the world dining there. It's a good look for at any business.

    Numbers

Tobacco had a huge segment of the population, therefore the non smokers had to tolerate something annoying. As the numbers went down it was segregated, as the numbers went further down it was banned outright.

Vaping while not unhealthy, is still annoying, and the number of vapers is very low. People needn't be tolerant of an annoying activity done by such a small group, so they just ban it.

My understanding is that vaping is less harmful than smoking. That doesn't make it harmless. Even regulations removed nicotine and other chemicals that would make secondhand vapor harmless, it is annoying AF.

I don't want to see your breath in a restaurant and then breath it in. I KNOW we breath each others' air, but I just don't want to see it.

All those fruity ass smells and when that one douche with the souped up stainless steel vapor max 1000 blows a cloud big enough to start an extinction event.

If a customer sees someone vaping, they might think it's OK to smoke in this particular establishment, and light up a tobacco cigarette. I can see why a proprietor wouldn't want to deal with that.

I think most restaurateurs don't want vapers as patrons for the same reason most restaurateurs don't want Juggalos as patrons.

    No big deal
I just found it interesting . .. since Vaping is suppose to be 'safe'
Seems like a bit of over regulation but I am PRO Bar can do what they want
(I actually don't care for the Tobacco ban . . i don't smoke but feel the owners should do what they want and bare the consequences)

Vaping seems like it was caught up into the same wave

I agree that a bar should be able to do what they want, I'm not a smoker... but if I owned a bar and a majority of my customers wanted to smoke I'd allow them to do so. It makes sense in other spots... But at a bar, not so much, don't get me wrong I prefer no smoking spots but it's also my decision to go to a bar (if the owner was even able to choose etc).
