It's true, Embiid hasn't proven anything yet. But he's doing his part, a 28/14 player who shoots threes and is a DPOY level defender. It's on his GM to build a team around him. I mean Hakeem couldn't do it all on his own either, he had to wait until he's 31 when he finally got a good enough team built around him to win the first championship.

    Peak - Duncan.
    Career - Duncan.
    Social media - Embiid.

Those Duncan anchored teams kept on contending, winning year on year and best of all, Cupcake unassisted.

Brent Barry would not, I think his Ex would say TP rocked her house as the best player.

duncan for all his faults is a five time champion on which he was a major contributor in each one.

embiid is a gimmick, a meme a flavor of the month player. the sports media loves him that should tell you everything you need to know.

its like comparing cardi B to tupac.

Embiid is also leading in emotional facial expressions.

    And hot wings eating.

At least Duncan didn't sound like a dinosaur is about to die.

10 years? Duncan was all-NBA First Team and 2nd team all-defense his rookie year. He won a championship and Finals MVP his second year. Duncan won 4 championships in his first ten years.

Considering Embiid is already in his third year, he would have to go on a historic tear to catch up to Duncan. I haven’t seen anything from him to think that’s likely. Embiid seems more likely to be the next Ralph Sampson than the next Tim Duncan.

You must be ... smoking. Sounds like Embiid’s lost brother, arrongant and ignorant.

i will take no nonsense duncan over embiid anyday, if we are going to play what if game, what if yao never got hurt and get better and better each year won't that be nice, but the reality is yao do get hurt almost every year just like embiid and embiid doesn't even have the same work ethic or talent as yao.

It would be an accomplishment if he gets close to the Admiral Robinson, that is not a given yet. He has to win an MVP first.

Duncan is far out of reach for now.

I mean, I like Embiid for his momentary displays of greatness.

But, ... like... Duncan going against Ibaka, Siakam, and Marc Gasol.... Duncan would totally obliterate them.

Duncan went up against and beat KG, Shaq, etc. on a regular basis.

ah, ****, i didn't read the OP. sorry, let me answer this question a bit better.

lets see. with a Rookie Duncan, Spurs made it to the 2nd round in the playoffs. as a Sophomore, Duncan took the Spurs to the first championship in franchise history.

Joel Embiid was constantly injured the first 2 seasons, and finally, this season, they might get out of the 2nd round.

they're not even in the same stratosphere in terms of starting a franchise. drafting Tim Duncan is practically as good as it gets aside from Hakeem.

    OP's next poll:

    1) Is Siakam better than Kareem Abdul Jabbar?

    2) Is DLo better than Magic Johnson?

    3) Is Jokic better than Hakeem?
