Can anyone tell me why the Rockets, as a team, tend to shoot WAAAAY too many threes, with 10+ left on the clock, with nobody in the paint? This happens a lot during the regular season, but it's inexcusable during the playoffs. It's happened probably eight times tonight. It's like we're so worried about the transition defense that were doing a clear out pass like you would to change lines in hockey. Esesentially, we're creating a fast break opportunity because we're worried about setting up our transition defense. I don't get it. Maybe I'm missing something. Not to mention that it screws with our spacing big time..
As I post this, it costs us the lead... This is the most frustrating thing about this team. Wtf. I understand if you want to take advantage of the three point shot, but you're giving up potential points at the same time. I'm guessing it has to do with the high screen by Capela at the top of the key. It seems like as soon as he sets that screen, we're keying on the open shot right there. That's fine if there what you want to do, but in that case, why not play someone like Fsried and have him and Clint switch off on setting that screen and have the other guy man the paint?
Good question - your answer is that this system is NO good, you are not using an easier way of scoring points
