Make a team with more talent but would get less productivity/Results than: Dwight Howard - C Derrick Colemon - PF Carmelo Anthony - SF Tracy McGrady - SG Russell Westbrook - PG This is a team that would seem like they would dominate but in reality would never get out of the second round. Rocket River
Five Len Biases would have more talent and get less results but I'm being a little morbid on this Friday.
AD not to be ignored at this point either. All the talent and all the #s and can't lead anything anywhere til he goes and joins up with others stars soon.
Carmelo actually went to the WCF once with Denver and George Karl as the 1st option. Not that it matters much to his career but just saying. Orlando Dwight would have made the Finals though. You could actually put Chris Paul on that team. He has not done anything major as the 1st option. One reason he opted for Houston was his notorious problem getting out of the 2nd round. Another Chris - Chris Bosh couldn't do anything as the 1st option in the East either.
My Rockets version of the All-Time Underperforming team: PG: Steve Francis SG: Terrence Williams SF: Tracy McGrady PF: Stromile Swift C: Dwight Howard
if you're putting cp3 in their, youre saying harden is too then because he has done just as much as paul being the 1st option. a single wcf appearance doesn't really separate much between the two, especially when it was a quick one and we all know what happened in a game against the clips to get there 12-13: 1st round exit 13-14: 1st round exit 14-15: wcf 15-16: 1st round exit 16-17: 2nd round exit 12-13: 1st round exit 13-14: 2nd round exit 14-15: 2nd round exit 15-16: 1st round exit 16-17: 1st round exit
Rocket Great Joe Barely Cares belongs on that list. GSW gave up Robert Parish and Kevin McHale for the "honor" of drafting him. Also, basically the entire 1986 draft, minus one or two names. Is it too caloused to describe Len Bias as having greatly underperformed that #2 pick? Len Bias Chris Washburn Roy Tarpley and William Bedford
I would call that an underachieving team. I mean, they tried hard and performed but were ultimately ALL LOSERS.
I would say the whole clippers team with paul griffin and Jordan. They were supposed to dominate the west for years
Some guys listed above didn’t win a championship, or got hurt before they could fulfill their potential. These guys below were all star or even “superstar” players who couldn’t even sniff the playoffs: Juwan Howard Shareef Abdur Rahim Mitch Richmond Michael Redd Stephon Marbury
David Robinson would dominate crappy players all regular season then lowkey get nowhere in the playoffs. Until he was old, didn't do much, only had to play 50 games and Tim Duncan showed up. I think he only carried his team to the WCF the one time (pre-Duncan). And y'all saw what happened. Lulz.
