Let's face it the Rockets are not just Weber away from going into the higher rounds of the playoffs. The overall level of talent is not high enough yet. With just Weber replacing Mo we would at best be where the Kings are this year. We need to try to strike it rich in the draft. If we get lucky than we'll have the talent to go deep into the playoffs in roughly three years. Ideally we could get Diop or some other wide body to combat Shaq. All roads to the finals will go through him for at least 5 years. Trading two just to get Battier is playing it safe without enough upside. Let's try to get two or three young studs to develop in the next two or three years. So what if they can't contribute too much next year, we can still make the first round. Remember if the draftees prove to have talent we can then trade their potential for a mising piece or two for a real run.. If it wasn't for the draft with Cuttino and Dickerson, we would not have Francis either. Don't underestimate the draft. ------------------

Finalsbound, I've been reading posts nearly daily since before you registered. This is the first time I've even noticed one of your posts. I guess I failed to appreciate your spelling prowess. Oh well, the famous quote about "the hobgoblin of little minds" ------------------
What Dallas is gonna involve Mad Max in a sign-and-trade deal for Webber? Where do you guys get this stuff??? ------------------ Founding Father of the Refs Suck Club
Does Webber want the Maxx on video or DVD? Anyway, to me the Rockets have much better players outside of starting PF than the Kings, except starting SF. So if we were to get Webber and trade for SAR then we should be light years ahead of where Sacto is now. ------------------ You can't stick a porcupine in a barn, light it on fire, and expect to get licorice.
