http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1734067 Forward reportedly jailed for curfew violation HOUSTON -- New Jersey Nets forward Eddie Griffin has been indicted on a charge he assaulted a woman and shot at her during an incident in October, according to a broadcast report. Houston television station KRIV reported the indictment was handed up Thursday. Harris County Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Devine said she was not surprised by the grand jury's action. "In fact, I would have been surprised if they didn't return an indictment," she told the station. Devine said she wanted the indictment before Griffin's appearance in court Friday for sentencing in an unrelated mar1juana possession conviction. He was convicted on the mar1juana charge in January. Griffin's attorney, Rusty Hardin, hadn't seen the indictment but told The Associated Press he had anticipated it would come before Friday's court date. "The only thing different about this is that it's been pending as long as it has," Hardin told the AP. Griffin is in jail for a curfew violation. Thursday's indictment stems from an Oct. 25 incident when a woman accused him of hitting her in the face and shooting at her as she drove away from his home. Griffin went on leave from the Nets last week so he could undergo six weeks of treatment for alcohol abuse, Hardin said. Griffin signed with the Nets in January, a few weeks after being released by the Houston Rockets.
I wonder what he thinks about all this stuff?.. see kids... the moral of today is.. dont be smokin that indo foooo
I'm glad NJ signed him. Now in the press they say, "Nets forward Eddie Griffin has been indicted ..." No reason to drag the good name of the Rockets through the mud withi him.
If that was the case, I'd be a notorious serial killer by now. Naw, I think Eddie Griffin is just kinda crazy. If anything, weed probably helped the poor b*stard.
Latest I heard he showed up for one of his meetings at the courthouse drunk (urine test found BAC .07%) . He's got a long road to recovery ahead of him.
A bit harsh my man.... to the extreme. What did Eddie ever do to you? When have you ever made a mistake? I hate to see this forum be used for pandering and pontificating. If Eddie is found guilty of these charges, let's hope he can accept the punishment phase as an opportunity to square up some bad decisions and judgment. Eddie needs guidance, forgiveness, understanding, and some responsibility. It’s too bad things didn’t work out with the Rockets. Let’s hope it’s not too late for him to have a career in the NBA though and more important, a life that works in real ways.
Dude, Eddie hit a woman and shot at her. What do you not understand about that?????? Do you not understand that is a horrible thing.
lol fred, I'm fairly certain that the people replying here haven't beat and shot at a woman... Eddie deserves everything he has coming, and I still want to slap Rudy T for that pick.
I would like to know that men who shoot guns at women are not out in society. Eddie doesn't deserve forgiveness for shooting at a woman. I'm sorry, I just can't. I don't hate him because of his pot smoking or drinking. It's just shooting at a woman... That is as bad of a crime that you can commit.
He alegedly hit a woman, it hasn't been proved yet, so it's not a fact yet and nothing is clear yet, well the only thing that is clear is that he did not work well for the rockets, but like that othere dude said, he hasn't done anything to me and it is not clear wether he did anything to that woman, so i can't personally judge him.
For what he did to the Rockets, he should be in jail. j/k but seriously, dude had problems for a long time, and only because he was a millionaire, was able to avoid incarceration longer than the average fellow.
