Bring on C-Webb! Come on, Allan. Show us some love. Think Detroit, Allan. Be the man. You are the man. You can't win in New York. Do the right thing. Hey, Allan: how about you and Vince change teams? What if the Raptors wind up in Louisville? Home cooking, dude! Yeah, the Rockets are in the driver's seat. I hope I hope I hope. I also hope Hakeem will sign for little $$$ if it means playing with CWebb. ------------------
Good point on Hakeem. I have heard Webber say he doesn't want to play Center. So I'm sure he wouldn't sign with Houston unless he had assurances that Hakeem will sign for a year or 2 at least or if Rudy can somehow convince him Cato is the Center of the Future and will turn it around. ------------------ Get Cato out of there...
05/07-ALLAN HOUSTON IS GONE- Early word is Allan Houston will exercise his option to become a free agent, in doing so he is expected to shop the market for his next deal. The Knicks according to printed reports and going to try and sign and trade Allan rather than keep him. The obvious target for the Knicks would be Chris Webber, but sources close to Allan say he will not agree to a deal sending him to Sacramento. Houston is expected to move to the top of the free agent wish lists of many teams, meaning the Knicks may find some hope for their roster after all. Remember that teams with top tier free agents ready to leave have not faired well in getting equitable return in the off-season. http://www.bskball.com/Rumors.htm ------------------ "Instinctly u recognize things, now take advantage of what u just recognized!".. Hakeem..
be a little more considerate with your title. The article does not say that Houston already opted out. teaser. ------------------ snap crackle pop
It didn't come out and say he has 100 percent decided to opt out, but it's pretty obvious from the tone of the article that's exactly what his intention is. ------------------ Get Cato out of there...
This NY times article makes a Webber trade for NY sound like a real long shot: http://partners.nytimes.com/2001/05/08/sports/08KNIC.html?Partner=AOL&RefId=l3eEFnnunJn2 Key points: "Moreover, if Houston does not opt out, the Knicks could trade him to any team in the league. But opting out gives him the power to accept or reject any trade the Knicks attempt." "The Knicks are more than $30 million over the salary cap, so their only chance to bring in Webber would be through a sign-and-trade deal involving one or two of their best players. The notion that Webber will sign in New York for the $4.5 million midlevel exception and then wait two years to sign a huge deal is ridiculous." "With Latrell Sprewell deemed untouchable and Glen Rice's age, injury and contract having crushed his market value, Houston is the most obvious trade bait. The Knicks may be forced to package him and either Marcus Camby or Kurt Thomas for Webber." -If LJ retires, the Knicks get NO cap relief or exemptions from this. -The Rockets could well be in the driver's seat for Webber because Allan Houston is basically holding all of the Knicks cards right now. Personally, i think the "webber to the knicks" rumor is a pipe dream, WAY too many complications and roadblocks. ------------------ Get Cato out of there...
If Houston opts out, where does he fall on the Rocket's wish list for FA? Webber Mo Hakeem Finley? Houston I like Houston. At the SF spot under the zone, he wouldn't have to play that physical a defense. ------------------
The Rockets have a better chance of trading Cato for Shaq than they do of signing Finley. ------------------ http://www.rapmusic.com/texasg/NewMavsLogo1.jpg
Why you say that? Finley,Mobley, and Francis would be a bad ass combonation. And plus he never said he was staying in Dallas. ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.

Does anyone know if Houston is happy playing SF? Stuff I've read in other posts make it seem like he wants the 2 guard position. ------------------
After reading the NYPOST.com article by Marc Berman on my palm today it seems he will defintely opt out of his contract and would be happy with a sign and trade as long as it was to a contender. ------------------ Pollution is Killing the Earth..... and the main rockets forum!
Man, I love Rudy. I think he is the best coach ever, and a really cool dude......but even he has his limitations ------------------
