    40.4% FG, 6.6 REB, 5.3 AST, 4.1 TO

And you guys say he is way better then Steve?

The numbers look about the same except PP shoots way more.

This logic is just wrong. His stats have gone down since they traded Antoine Walker. He was a MUCH better scorer than Francis when the Celtics were a good team and made the playoffs.

Steve also has been on crappy Rocket teams where the only other option was Cuttino and he did not average close to 26 points per game.

Pierce is a better scorer. He can post up some, he has a more consistent 3 pt shot, he can fade away, he can spot up, etc.

Paul Pierce is the man. After McGrady and Kobe he has to be the best 2 in the world. That being said, I dont use Steve Francis in a trade for Pierce. If there was any way (there's not) to get PP without giving up Yao or Steve you have to pull the trigger. Hell, we could sign 9 NBDL players along with those 3 and we'd be a top 4 team.

"Power forwards? We don't need no stinkin' power forwards..."

I guess JVG could just flip a coin every game. "Who do I start again [KG, Duncan, Brand, Dirk, etc.]? Heads for Spoon, tails for Padget."

Paul Pierce is a tad better overall player than for Francis, and probably much better off the ball, where Francis has to dominate the ball to get the most out of him. Also, though they are about the same age, Pierce will be effective in the league longer than Francis because once Francis's quickness slips a little there won't be much in terms of size or BB brain for him to keep any edge for his competition.

Thus if Francis and Cato got you Pierce and Laffrenz (even with a #1 from us thrown in) or the like, I do it. You have a much more complimentary star to play the inside-outside game with Yao.

Anyone proposed trade to acquire Paul Pierce without having SF or Yao as the principal does not dignify serious consideration from Bostons perspective, sorry.

I personally think Raef LaFrentz is better suited to play power forward than he is center.

Absolutely. If, big if, we had the right stuff to match up in a trade. I doubt we do, Too bad.

Because he is white? What does that have to do with the price of beans in Boston or the temperature in Tempe?

I love PP's game. Have watched him since he played for the jayhawks. He has just this great all around game, and can dominate a game without the dominating the ball Seriously, put Yao on the Celtics team two seasons ago where they went into the Eastern conference final, they would give the Lakers a run for the money.

PP's game is well suited to go along with a dominant big man, and he is a very good passer.

He is also a ballhog and has way too many turnovers.

But he is also very agressive and the refs give him a lot of calls.

Yes, I agree. His style of play is more suited for an inside-outside game like the Rockets use. I think he would be a much better fit then Francis for us. I don't think that Ainge would want to bring a player like Francis to his team though.

Ainge wants to screw the Celtics anyway so it's possible that we can let the trade go through.

Watching PP play last night and it was obvious he does not care about the team anymore. Unless they bring in some good player with him, he will probably opt to be out down the road.

Celts said they are looking for a PG... someone who would thrive in a fast paced environment like that. SF3 would do well there but im hoping he will do better here!

BTW, he was a great shooter up and had this nice midrange jumper all around the floor. It would be deadly against those teams that zone us and DT Yao.

PP has to be a ballhog for his team to win. Actually when he was teamed up with Walker, they have to get at least 45 points between them for their team to have a chance to win. To put it short, there is a reason that he is a ballhog.

If you are saying Steve won't ever average 26 points, I agree.

However, if you are saying Steve could average 26 points if he was moved to the SHOOTING GUARD position, I completely disagree. Just look at their games. Pierce can score in many ways- posting, spotting up, fadeaways, on the break, etc. Steve mainly scores with his midrange or on drives.
