Man, that is some chicken. Best chicken meat ever. I remember when I was kid, cold winter night, waited in a long line, trying to get into the chicken resturant ... Oh, Shanghai
you know what i find funny about this? i saw yao eat at burger king on tv and he's endorsing mcdonalds now. liar.
National Geographic had a story on YM, and showed him eating at McDonalds. I wonder if he already had the deal in place, and was trying to slip in a little product placement. Raven
don't forget his in and out fiasco last year too. if only he could truly endorse the double-double. mmm....double double.
L.A Times: Yao becomes Mcdonald's new Spokesman http://www.latimes.com/sports/baske...960210.story?coll=sns-ap-basketball-headlines[/URL]
Yao Ming scores endorsement deal with McDonald's Jim Greer Houston Business Journal Staff Houston Rockets center Yao Ming has signed a multi-year global endorsement deal with McDonald's. Already a pitchman for such household names as Apple Computer Inc. and Visa, Yao is a popular celebrity in China and a native of Shanghai. McDonald's, which serves nearly 47 million people daily in more than 100 countries, operates 580 of its flagship restaurants in China. The first McDonald's opened in China 10 years ago. Yao, 23, was the No. 1 draft pick in the National Basketball Association when he joined the Rockets out of China in 2002. The 7-foot 6-inch center has been named a starter for the Western Conference in the 2003 and 2004 NBA All-Star games. Seeking to build on its worldwide "I'm lovin' it" branding campaign, Ohio-based McDonald's is looking to Yao to promote "a youthful, fun, dynamic spirit which connects to today's customers and cultures," according to a Thursday press release from the fast-food giant. "You can expect to see him representing our brand in a number of fun and surprising ways all around the world," McDonald's Chief Marketing Officer Larry Light said in the press release. "His unique, larger-than-life personality and appeal transcends borders and makes him a perfect fit for our new global outreach to consumers." McDonald's made the announcement during NBA All-Star 2004 festivities in Los Angeles. The huge restaurant operator until recently had an endorsement deal with Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant, but McDonald's ended the relationship. Los Angeles will host the 2004 All-Star game in the Staples Center on Feb. 15, broadcast nationally and internationally in multiple languages. On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Lakers, led by star center Shaquille O'Neal, lost to the Rockets at Houston's Toyota Center, 102-87. Yao scored 29 points and had 11 rebounds. O'Neal had 24 points and nine rebounds, fouling out with three minutes left in the game. http://houston.bizjournals.com/houston/stories/2004/02/09/daily37.html
