...player without a start in the NBA this season?

That's right, our very own Maurice Taylor!

    From Yahoo:

Houston's Maurice Taylor has the second-highest scoring average for players without a start this season at 11.8 points in 44 appearances. ... Houston has a winning record in every month this season. The last time that happened was the 1993-94 season, when the Rockets won the first of back-to-back NBA championships.

Anyway, I have always been a pretty big Taylor fan. I was excited when we signed him, I've argued about his rebounding ability not being as shabby as everyone thinks, and I was extremely disappointed at the drug "mishaps." But I am sure glad he's been playing so well this season. I consider him a big lift this season. He and Jim Jackson, in my opinion, have made a big impact on the team.

    It's the 2nd highest.

    1st is Bobby Jackson.

great post! Its nice to hear positive things about our players once in awhile.

MoT deserves it and if we get to vote for 6th man of the year.. MoT has my votes!!!

He really does deserve it this year, he has really been clutch this season.

His rebounding has gotten better (though he still needs to work on boxing out better) and his defense is coming along.. im pretty happy with him! beautiful midrange J and array of low post posts.

    Mo Taylor = Chris Webber

without: passing skills, lean size, and excellent touch

Mo gots a "good" touch, not excellent and his size makes him a little slower.

    6th Man of The Year:

Bobby Jackson 14.3 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 2.2 APG
Maurice Taylor 11.9 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 1.3 APG
Antwawn Jamison 14.9 PPG, 6.3 RPG, .9 APG

Tough call right now, but Jamison and Jackson have slightly better numbers...

    Which leaves almost nothing :D.

Anyway, this season must be Mo's best so far as a Rocket, getting that spark off the bench really helps.

So basically Maurice is a poor man's Chris Webber. But hey, i'd rather have MoT than Webber still. Webber is turning out to be another Grant Hill. Doh.
