If this is the case, we are in for one heck of a finish this year. Maybe we (and I do mean we) can take this into account when the Rockets are playing sub-par ball. Steve and Van Gundy's games co-existed last night and it was beautiful. Steve isolated, penetrated, and took people off the dribble when the middle wasn't available. Yao played like a man possesed after he was firmly integrated into the game scheme by Steve and others.

Last night wasn't luck, this team has the talent and the coach, we just need to be more consistant and follow last nights example. These guys can do it.

I thought the key, the wild card was Cat involving others, including and especially Yao. Cat looked like the all star 2. As a scorer, passer, defender.

Go, Cat. No, I mean stay. But, Go!!!

I gave love to CAT in the "I LOVE CAT" thread, and last night just confirmed my love for him...

Excellent game and a great effort to involve not only Yao, but everyone...

Each star did one thing they need to do regularly:

Yao: Went 3-12 but kept shooting. he was aggresive. He even took those 20 footers at least 4 times, even though he bricked them. Good effort. Dont back down after early misses.

Cat: He learned something from Ginobili the other day. Pump fake and drive. Or just simply penetrate and dish or finish. Actually, he knows how to do it himself, just has gotten away from it lately. Settling for the 3 too much lately. Even when he was hot, he drove yesterday. The result: free throws and assists.

Francis: He just made his shots man. Took similar shots, the middly distant shot. Broke his man down 1 on 1 and made him some jumpers. Simple. Keep it up.

Do this consistantly, and u got a 50 game season.:)

The good thing about our offense is that when its clicking, its awesome, even against good defenses. An example is 4th quarter vs SA. consistancy is the key...

I had a heated discussion with a Lakers fan at Toyota last night. He, like so many others believe that we did not beat the playoff Lakers team.

I offered to bet him 500. that the Rockets would be seeded higher come playoff time, he wouldn't do it. Problem solved.

Absolutely. Cat was playing at a different level. If he looks at the game tape and can keep playing the same type of mad game, then look out. We're a different team.

Of course the big question as always for Cat and Francis (and Yao) is can they be consistent? Right now, there is no indication that they can. We've thought we turned a corner before.

I was really suprised at the ease that Cat was schooling Kobe. I was impressed.

If we keep this up and play like this every game, we will win at least 70 games any season and be the favorite in the playoffs.

Yes, and that is the first time. In fact, I did not think it was possible. It was a perfect combination of team ball and iso. Maybe it can work. But the key was the shooting percentage. When you are torching it from the outside, you open up all kind of space. Extremely positive, but I want to see some repetition. If they start playing like this on a regular basis, the Rocket's can beat anybody. Getting hot in the second half is a good thing to do.

Wow, I think the Rockets showed a lot of potential, but we're not cracking the top5 in the west record-wise this year, which would mean you'd surely lose $500.

come playoff time the lakers will be fully fit individually and at full strength as a team. i hope the rox win enough or just enough to avoid the lakers first up.

This is relatively simple. The Rockets have beat and Minnesota at home. That's pretty much the only good team they have beat, in the west, which is all that counts for the most part. The Lakers are just not that good. Don't get me wrong, I agreed with what Walton said at the end, this team is really close. They just need to make the commitment.
