Not sure, maybe Alonzo Mourning got a game on him...but it seems like it has definitely been a while!

Don't laugh, but I think Rik Smits got one game on him the year Indiana went to the finals.

that's what i was thinking....but does duncan guard o'neal typically? yao was guarding shaq last night, staying out of foul trouble and working him over on the other end of the court.

Shaq says that Yao doesnt play him one on one. I guess now he knows how Yao feels every game he plays. Yao took shaq one on one.

At times during the game I saw the Lakers bringing over some help defense for brief moments throughout the game in order to try to swipe the ball away, I call that a double team so Shaq can't gripe. Yao guarded Shaq 1v1 for most of the game--I know I was surprised to see that.

Be fair. We can't say it is "outplayed" by Yao.
But definitely, long time did not have "equal play"

Sabonis used to be able to have his way with Shaq.

Yao and Duncan are probably the only 2 players in the league to attack Shaq.

Tim Duncan can have his way with Shaq. Some Lakers' fans even say that there are two can can probably have good games with Shaq. TD and YM

Last season Shaq was out of shape and frequently got outplayed. This season, he is in shape but his toe still bothers him and he hasn't been able to retain his fitness level and it's especially evident on back to backs. I love Yao, but anyone expecting a regular repeat of last night is fooling themselves.
