Happy Days was a great show in its day, but the ratings started to slip. So they put Fonzi on a surf board and had him jump a shark. After that, Happy Days was just one gimmick after another to try to save ratings instead of staying true to its creative mojo. Some say the Simpsons jumped the shark when actors started playing themselves while others say they haven't jumped the shark.
