We're number one: Carlos Boozer made a bold prediction on which team will win the Rookie vs. Sophomore Game during All-Star Weekend.

"No predictions, just a [win]," said Boozer, a member of the sophomore team. "We have Yao Ming. We have the only All-Star in the game. I'm going with Yao."

    :D

I just wish he could say the same thing once his contract is up for renewal...

He'll be a free agent next offseason and we'll be able to offer more money then the Cavs so it is a possiblity. Hopefully, he would rather have the opportunity to play with Yao than Lebron.

Yeah, that was me. It's true, the Cavs have an option for the third year and after that, he will be a restricted free agent. We have almost no chance to get him.

I dont like the idea that Yao will play in both the rookie sophamore game and the allstar game.

Shame for us, but no shame for Cavs to have put that option in. I expect all rook 2nd rounder contracts to be like that in the future (avoiding Arenas et al losses).

I love Boozer's game. A hard nose bruiser who can really rebound and shoot the mid range jumper.

Remember we (Rudy T) skipped Carlos Boozer for Boki 2 years ago...

Remember that 28 GMs skipped out on him too.

Boozer was out of shape and unimpressive when he was drafted. Boozer himself, halfway through the summer, decided to get into better condition. Nobody dreamed Boozer would have been this good and he wouldn't have if he hadn't decided at the last second to fully dedicate himself to getting into shape. Now that he's in shape people are ripping teams for not drafting him. Revisionist history.

Boozer would be a dream to have on this team. But Cleveland is extemely high on him, understandably. And Boozer has said that he wants to sign a long term contract with them. I'd love to have him on this team. Can you imagine having him and Yao starting up front with Cato and MoT coming off the bench? Unbelievable. But it won't happen.

    Carlos Boozer = Kenny Thomas

Both are under-sized power-forwards. That kind of thing works out in the EAST but out here in the west....

Yao should not defer to anyone on that sophomore team. He's clearly their best player and they'll look to him to lead. It should be interesting.

I agree that that game should be pretty interesting. Wonder if Yao will send LeBron a little thank you note. ;)

I like Boozer too, but the Cavs are definitely going to do whatever it takes to keep him. I recall a quote from LeBron along the lines of "I want him to be my power forward for the rest of my career." The king has spoken.

I thought the Sophs would win because they had the reigning Rookie of the Year on the team...
