We get frustrated because the Rockets cannot get a long winning streak. But with their record being positive, as I said before, this also means they never really had a long losing streak either...

From the AP article about the Lakers game.

Houston has a winning record in every month this season. The last time that happened was the 1993-94 season, when the Rockets won the first of back-to-back NBA championships.

    Believe :)

    Also,

The Rockets have the 2nd toughest schedule in the NBA after the all-star break.

It will be a make or break run for the playoffs.

the schedule is tough but not completely ridiculous

That's simply a function of playing in the Midwest Division.

The 1-7 toughest schedules in the NBA after the break are almost all exclusively in the Midwest division, as they should be; midwest division teams have the best records of any in the league. Since they all play each other, they have the toughest schedules.

The Rockets will make the playoffs this year.

It's not close now, it won't be close later. After the Rox-Nugz- Grizz the quality of the teams in the WC take a big drop off to the below .500 end of the scale. We're well past that.

    Not really.

The Jazz are pretty close. Just 4 wins apart. A few more losing streaks by us and they'll be right behind our ass*s.

POTland is a little farther back. But they should be on the rise after the recent trade...

But hey, we're just 3 wins behind Dallas......

Great, great basketball game tonight for Yao, Steve, Cat and the rest of the Rockets. But I'm going to single out Yao for right now. Yao played such a smart basketball game, and I loved seeing him fustrate O'neal all night long in the paint, but the greatest momment for me however in tonight's game had to be in in the 4th quater when Shaq pulled a perfect rendition of himself and used the ole Hack A Shaq on Yao Ming. As a matter of fact he did it 5 times late in the game and eventually fouled out. 5 fouls in the 4.(sweet)

I think this type of behavior towards Yao Ming deserves it's own nicname. What do you think SJC?

I'll start it with Pound A Yao

    Go Rockets!! :)

The Jazz scored 66 points tonight...

Matt Harpiring (aka their second leading scorer) will miss the rest of the season.

Just 4 wins must seem like an awful lot for the Jazz at the moment!

It might be the 2nd toughest, but most are home games. And if u look at it, its really not that bad. If u count losses to SA, Dallas, Sacramento, and Minnesota every time, include a couple others on the road , we should still go about 18-12. Thats 48 wins.

The jazz are not 4 wins away, they are 4.5 games back, so technically they are 9 wins/losses away.

That is a big difference, if they were only 4 wins away, we would only have a 2 game lead.

A 4.5 game lead is a sizable lead over a team that loses more often than it wins, which the Jazz are.

Once again, I guarantee you the Rockets will make the playoffs and will happilly take your signature if they do. Interested?

Well, my 3-year-old has my brain in a certain kind of mentality..

    So..

    How about

    'Ow-a-Yao'

(named after his favorite pastime, getting an 'owie')

I think getting bashed in the dome by Shaq's clublike arms counts a
getting an 'owie', don't you? ;)

    I bet Stevie agrees.. hehehe
