agree, but i think we also have to realize Marwin is not what he used to be anymore, thus by letting him hit the market.
He deserved some criticism for how he started out just like he deserves recognition for how he has turned things around.
Diaz. At this point he’s the better player. Better defender (especially at SS/2B), equal power, a lot fewer strikeouts. I will always love Marwin, but even ignoring the financial aspect, this tradeoff was a good move.
My guess... Diaz is our starting short stop in 2022. He's under team control an extra year after Correa's last year of arbitration in 2021.
