Why is this thread still going? By the law of holic none of this even matters. Harden is averaging more than 4.1 turnovers per game this year. And as we all know this eliminates us from contending. Never mind that we had the 6th fewest turnovers in the league this year. Harden eclipsed 4.1 so it’s over and all this CC talk is frivolous.
Ahhh, the all ever elusive Center that can shoot 3 pointers, effectively defend smaller players on switches, and protect the paint. If such player existed, he would be getting top dollar.
No they are not and the fact that you think Noel, Who and Randolph are the answer shows how deluded you are. If they are so plentiful more teams would have them and yet no one does any is that?
Even the "2 out of 3 ain't bad" variety are getting top dollar. Embiid, KAT, Whiteside, Drummond, and Horford are all earning north of $25M this year. And Boogie would be on a max contract if not for that achilles blowout. Capela is a friggin' bargain.
We didn't know that in 2016. And you have absolutely NO WAY of knowing how his shooting would have developed here instead of Milwaukee. And it's not like the trade would have been the be-all/end-all. I've been talking about shooting 5's constantly for the last 2 years...suggesting all sorts of guys, including Dedmon, Lopez, etc. We could've signed Lopez. And the more we drop Capela the worse it makes it look that we didn't sign Lopez. ANd we wouldn't have had to give up Melton, and a first, and a second...either......We would still have all those assets. Go away. U know nuthing.
I said “decent at worst”. Don’t try to fit just some of my words to your absurd narrative that you alone in this world spit out. He played his fkin mind out last years playoff and may have been very tired against GSW but still played well in the series. Capela is a perfect fit in our offense and defense.
I acknowledged that Harden finally changed on that. And I appreciated the change. Now, Harden needs to change some more. He needs to move off the ball a little bit more, get him and Paul's usage lined up closer to even between them, and get his turnovers back down. It was posters like you that would never acknowledge that Harden needed to be playing alongside another primary playmaker. You guys thought Bev and Ariza were the perfect bookends to Harden.
I absolutely love how Holic employs the "many universes" theory of quantum physics to explain how he wasn't wrong about something. If reality had just occurred differently, he'd have been 100% correct!
This isn't true. Many were happy to bring in more playmakers, just not one's who were poor fits next to Harden like you insisted with Rubio. Everybody always was down with another elite playmaker who could shoot and fit next to Harden. Hence...Chris Paul. Nobody was mad about losing Beverley to bring him in. Even Ty Lawson people were excited about as an additional playmaker, though obviously that ended up not working out with him forgetting how to play basketball. But the statement that nobody acknowledged the need for another ball handler is silly.
I absolutely hate how you are frozen in time selectively. Makes you look like an idiot to anybody with half a brain.
good ol' 50 year old holic. poor guy never was able to adjust to the game. everything just passed him by
No. Most didn't want to add Paul either. And poor fit....you don't know if Rubio would have been a poor fit. You're just guessing because you are assuming Rubio playing off the ball. When I specifically stated we needed a second playmaker to get Harden off the ball so his turnover count would go down and he'd score more easily and often.
