Its a surprise to you because you assume Brett Baier and FNC were not on the level.

Fox News is the equivalent of CNN for Republicans.

Definitely not the case. Fox News was created literally as a conservative mouthpiece. That was it's intention from the founder himself.

People simply believe CNN being a bad news network has something to do with bias. There problem isn't being left wing. There problem is click bait style journalism. Most of their news coverage is having poo flinging pundit fights over politics. They hardly do deep nuanced policy discussion. All their framing of large issues is from a political lense of "how will this effect the next election" rather than "how these policies that are discussed will effect American lives".

There's a difference between reporting news wherever it takes you, and presenting stories shaped for the effect on the audience. One is information and one is propaganda. The is no equivalence.

    I agree. CNN is trash.

Go Bernie. He is a very generous man.

That's a very off-hand indictment. You should expand your reasoning if you want to be taken seriously. Compare and contrast the mission of the two please.

Are you saying they aren’t a mouthpiece for conservatives?

I dont mind not being taken seriously. If you like CNN and find them credible then keep watching and reading them.

I am saying when they give an interview, they are far more upfront and honest about it than the networks, CNN, or MSNBC.

If you are complaining that they have more conservative pundits than liberal pundits then fine, but that's not dishonest.

All that said, i hate tv news.

Not even remotely true. If anything, this clip should show you that.

They are more upfront and honest about which side they are reporting for? I agree.

And I agree about hating tv news, it rots your brain.

When you mean "upfront" do you mean more "obvious" and over the top?

Credibility of their reporting is completely different then enjoying their programming. For the most part I do NOT enjoy CNN's "First Take" style of debate programming.

I do however maintain that the reporting is credible, and there are serious journalists that work there.

MSNBC's nightly lineup has a partisan viewpoint for people who are socially liberal, but certainly corporatist capitalist. They shape views towards stable Democratic norms of a liberal capitalist vantage point. However they don't have hostile debates. Its fairly calm reporting & liberal political nightime show.

Fox is the opposite of that where in the day time it is a fairly mainstream news reporting outlet, but in the nighttime this shape their view to very hard right propaganda. This is where FoxNews gets very dangerous. You can't really say that MSNBC is the left equivalent because their slant is actually not the liberal extreme, or socialist. They aren't out there praising Antifa or anything. Hannity, Ingram, and Tucker... those guys are straight up white nationalist extremists. Call Maddow, and Hayes Libtards if you want to, but you just can't go that far with them as a counter to Hannity & co. The FoxNews prime time entertainment shows are EXTREME.

CNN operates as a serious minded News Outlet that in the middle of sober news & reporting then throws the topic to a "Panel" who are people on the opposite sides of the spectrum who then yell at each other for 3 and a 1/2 minutes. I absolutely despise this because it just creates talk tracks for you and your friends at work or whatever to recreate the same conversation about the same topic. It really creates a dangerous precedent for how we interact with each other on a daily basis when we engage on political conversations.

This is where CNN is horribly wrong. Not because they report the real news fairly and accurately.

The thing is.... NBC, CNN, and even Fox do actually do real reporting & journalism. People just often hate the network for the opinion slant they provide after the news is reported that then leads them to shrug it off as "FakeNews" if its not convenient to their worldview.... which I'm assuming is what you are doing here. You cannot even accept the actual reporting from even CNN who at least has two sides of the debate following a news report.

So are you really here to say that you don't think the REPORTING with CNN is real, or are you trying to say that you can't even handle the fact that half of the panel opinions that follow that reporting don't fit your worldview?

Trump hates Baier. He basically hates anyone except opinion journalists.

As for them being surprised, they agreed ahead of time to allow the room to be filled with Democrats so I don't think they were surprised.

Was the room filled with Democrats? I'd have guessed there would be a mix of republicans, independents and democrats... but I haven't seen anything that gave the splits.

I'm not sure. They said it was "diverse" but I had read an article a few days ago that said they agreed to give his people some control over the crowd makeup.

That makes sense but I don't think Baier would have asked the loaded question of health care if the room was packed with democrats.
