On a late night radio program on 610 it was said that Mario Elie would return to the NBA as a Rocket. He said that Mario Elie is a veteran the Rockets could use with the young guys.I think countingcrows was on to some pretty significant Elie talk.

That would be great. I always liked the guy, except when he was on the Spurs, killing us with the 3-pointer.

I know people here might have misgivings about his fiery temperment and how the young guys on the team might wilt under that; but Mario playing 14 minutes a game at the 2 is not a bad deal. Might even convince Dream to play for chump change....?

I know I'm jumping the gun, but most of the great teams have a great veteran role player or two.

Man! That would be great! Elie is an emotional guy that the Rockets can use down the stretch when the Rox have those long loosing streaks.

Actually, as much as I emjoyed having Mario on the team in previous years.....you can keep him.

The guy has clearly lost not one, but two steps.

Mario has lost a step, it's true. But since Shandon looks to be a goner, we need someone to play token minutes at the 2, as we will likely draft a 3 or a 5 (if we don't trade away the picks).

I can't see the Rockets bringing back Mario Elie unless Mario is willing to take the bare ass minimum, the Rockets land Webber and need to fill spots.

I thnk he may have burned a bridge or two here.

I may be wrong though .... would be fun to write "Super Mario's World" again [IMG]

    thegame,

Cool. What I'm trying to get at is was it a caller that said it or was it the host? Any caller can call up and say stupid rumors may be true, but usually hosts of shows don't make up stuff for the hell of it.

Bob Kemp is an idiot. And he hates Houston sports teams in general. So I'm not sure I trust him as a source.

Not that I ever listened to him much anyway, but he's not what I miss now that we don't have 1on1 sports in Austin anymore.

Bob Kemp is an idiot, but it's not that he hates Houston teams, it's that that bitter old jerkoff hates EVERYBODY. He has nothing good to say about anybody. I am so glad he's not in Austin anymore cause that SOB's show was completely unlistenable. Unfortunately when i go back to H-town I still have to put up with that garbage.

I remember that idiot. He acts like he's high and mighty. If he disagrees with you he tears you down and hangs up on you. If you agree with him, he suddenly turns around and argues the OTHER point and hangs up on you, or patronizes you, no matter what kind of facts you give to him. Completely unlistenable, and a waste of airtime.
