no wonder feigen is so fast, look at all those typos.

slava was hilarious. right after the announcer mentions he's 1-12, he immediately jacks up a shot that hits the side of the backboard.

I'm very proud of the guys tonight. Yao was awesome. I loved that jumphook and up and under move on Shaq. He didn't get intimidated and outmatched him. He showed a lot of emotion and was demanding the ball everytime in the 4th quarter which was great. He was quick on his feet as well. Both Cuttino and Steve passed and scored which changed everything. Taylor came on strong too and our defense was pretty good as well.
Yao spoke good English on ESPN and I was really happy when he said he didn't feel that he got hurt today. It was nice to see him and Ewing laughing and touching their fists together.
A fine way to go into the all star break.

    Yao needs to sustain it.

This game should go a long way for his confidence, but in order to reach his potential, he needs to do it game after game.

I just hope the guards give him the ball enough...21 shots....WOW...I was about to faint.

    Shaq's Daddy

Ming shows O'Neal who should be starting Sunday

Shaquille O'Neal had an opportunity to show Yao Ming who should have been the Western Conference starter in the All-Star Game. But Yao made a pretty strong case, outplaying Shaq in the fourth quarter of the Rockets' win. Full Story ...

I was happy and lucky enough to be at the game.

    Man, where to start....

Francis played his best game as a Rocket, IMO... and talk abut the timing, just when you thought the only solution was to trade him he goes and plays a FLAWLESS game... this is why I think we get so upset with him, he has sooooo much ability in him, just needs to know when to let it out and when to keep it in....

Yao played strong, definitley had an angry streak going.. so much that I think I have lost my voice yelling for him.

Great team game.. games likes this really make you wonder... is this really the rockets or just another teaser along the way... i hope they can sustain this and see what lies ahead if they continue to play this way.

    GREAT GAME!!! :)

    :D

    Agreed!

Yao justified his status of the starter in All Star Game!!! I appreciate Yao stood bravely in face of Shaq and continued to shoot when he nailed 4 out of 11. He show his teammates and all of us not only courage but also the hope for the future. :D :D :D

It is times like this that makes me soo proud to be Rockets fan.

    :D

Can they just please, please, please burn this game into their memories as to why they should play like this all the time.

Just when I was about ready to really give up on Francis...he pulls this?
No excess dribbling...lots of passing...taking the shots that are well within the flow of the offense..

Cat was as good defensively and offensively as I have seen him play all year.

Yao....what to say?...I worried for him early since he was rushing his shots and wasnt hitting them...but then...he got mad.
HE almost seemed to have taken it personally to make sure that he got the better of Shaq....This is the Yao I want to see all the time..

Ah what the hell..this is the TEAM I want to see all the time.

great game guys..just dont forget what won it for you over the long break.
Make us forget about trades and b****ing...make us proud.

By far the best game by the Rockets for the season.

Both SF3 and Cat played an A+ game. They deferred to Yao (against Shaq!). Took shots within the flow of the game, drove to the basket for dish, drawing charge, or a 2. This is the way that they are capable of playing and should play. If these two play this way all season, they will form the best backcourt in the NBA and Steve will be starting PG for the western conference the rest of his career. And Cat will someday get all-star consideration from the coach.

I have to give Yao an A+ for his effort tonight. If it's against a minor opponent, I would give him an A-. But this is against the MDP of the game, and I am most impressed by Yao's attitude, his fearlessness in the second half after the poor shooting of the 1st half. And I never imagine that I will see Yao demanding the ball against Shaq in the 4th quarter and go directly against him!!!!!!!!!!! I know that Yao has the ability to outplay Shaq someday, but really never thought that it could be so fast.

Again if our big 3 play like this most of the games, there is no trade necessary, and we will compete for the title year in and year out.

Possibly THE BEST GAME ever played by Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley. They were cerebral athletes out there. Maybe Steve's getting pointers from Mark Jackson. I hope this can continue on a consistent basis...just to quell fans who want Steve traded. I WANT TO KEEP THE FRANCHISE. No dumb trades.

Give this team two more years to gel...maybe add another frontcourt player.

We'll make the playoffs this year and then...who knows how far we'll go.

In two years, Ming might becpme the best center in basketball; Francis will be playing beyond All-Star level to MVP-caliber.

Franchise (zenith) + Dynasty (entering prime) = 2006 NBA Championship.

    Simple math.

It's only a matter of time.

THE HOUSTON ROCKETS WILL RISE AGAIN.

Can't believe the forth quarter as the Tao of Yao schooled Shaq. Oh my God! I dreamed once this could happen, but thought it would take at least a couple years. Crips! I think we have a major league long running rivalry here. And Cuttino IS emerging exactly as I saw earlier. I do believe he wants to be more old school now, make the extra pass, and Marc Jackson is a good influence on his game I bet cha.

Also I need to mention that Yao outplayed Shaq when his outside game was not there.

BTW, just a suggestion to the Rockets: whey Steve and Yao play P&R , can we set Yao a bit closer to the basket? It seems that the Rockets are asking Yao to take 22 footers (just inside the 3 pointer line) which is not necessary. Only if we can set Yao to shoot some 16-18 footers instead.......:)
