I saw the last game with Spurs on TNT. Yao was fighting hard, but I think he can't utilize his energies more efficiently.
He always push the defender to a better position. Why not just walk away? There are so much space on the court? The area around the paint is huge. Sometimes Yao can walk to other sides slowly to attract the defenders, sometimes Yao needs to use his speed to get a good position. Let the defenders run after you, Yao.Don't always push to a good position, which is too tiresome for anyone.

Most of his energy is used in running up and down the court. I mean he uses a lot of it fighting for position, but he spends most of it running in my opinion. Thats why JVG just has him stand back on the defensive end on offensive free throws.

Yao just needs a summer of serious conditioning...he will be in a lot better shape....I hope this year when he goes to china..we send soemone with him the whole time for strength + conditioning

Well, Yao hasn't learned how to use his strength felicitously yet. But at least Yao utilized his energy more smartly tonight, i think. :D
