Heath is having connection problems but wanted me to tell everyone that it has been decided that we go with this league due to all the problems we have had with OOTP. You can find it here: Heath, hopefully, will be able to connect and give more info on what we are going to do next. In the meantime, discuss amongst yourselves...
Your players like Borchard, Lopez, etc will be corrected to be White Sox players. And that goes for everyone else - if there were guys that you had re-signed, whether it was pre-crash or after the crash, you will still have those players.
Heath, I don't know if the letter will be much help. Have you tried the morningstar account? I am not sure if they blocked you from the whole system or just from accessing the original account. If it is the whole system I don't know what we can do except find another host. CK
I'm posting this from work, so I will probably not get to read any replies until I get the situation at my home computer fixed. But my ISP told me that I could send a descripton of what happened to your ISP Castor, and then ev1 would lift the block. I suspect that ev1 blocking me could be connected to me losing the routing to the BBS also. But I guess I will try the e-mail explantion thing when I get back home. If I can't use that account no more that is probably not that big of a problem, but getting the block lifted would help a whole deal. As it is now I can't compare the talent differences that we have from the old update to the new one, but I have all the contracts that was agreed in the old thread that did not stick saved at my computer. What managers can do in the mean time is list their contractual, talent and otherwise changes that need to be done when (if) I get back the connection to the old (and new update). What managers dont need to mention is the finances - I know that it is wrong for all teams concerned and would edit it for all teams when things is normalized. Looks like OOTP is a bit doomed. when Chuck get the save to me, I come into problems. Also options for when we can do FA is needed. Sunday is not an opportunity.
Also I guess I should mention that the only way to contact me at the moment is to contact me in chat, e-mail me through the BBS, or contact me through IQC or AIM for those of you that have me added there.
I talked to Heath about "OOTP being doomed" and he did NOT mean it to sound that the league is over with; just that bad things happen when running it (like all the crashes and having to wait so long for the files to transfer). As for free agency, any time is okay with me as I plan on not bidding on anyone this time.
Well, it has always been done like that (for the most part). I can remember, maybe once or twice, trades being filled before FA, but it really is up to Heath on how he wants to do it. He may go ahead and fill trades before free agency. I'll mention something to him about it in chat.
I think I agree. We could probably get more people to play too if restarted with this season's real rosters. Think about it though, had we restarted the whole thing back in January, we'd probably already be on season 2. I'm just getting tired of the instability of this game. How many more crashes do we have to look forward to?
1.) There's no trouble with the savefile we have now. The problems we have had have not been crashes. 2.) A new restart would be just as likely to crash at any given time as the current save.
I guess I am a little surprised to not hear from guys like Buck88, Dean, DHR, etc. Maybe they are all on vacation or something.... At any rate, we have endured this much, I don't think we should give up now (although it sounds like some have ). But the bottom line is yes, Heath is having some ISP issues, but it will get fixed or he will find a way around it. Will it take as long as getting the save game file? I hardly think so. I am guessing that Heath will be posting on the BBS by the end of this weekend. This also means that there is NOTHING wrong with the OOTP file (for now ) - people should be using this time to look over the free agent list, their team's ratings, the rookies, etc AND also letting us know when is the best time for free agency - which no one has done other than me. So, let's hear from you - when do you want free agency?
Htown, if Colon was a cost move, you can still spend his money in free agency, you aren't going to pay him this season so you won't lose any money.
