McCarthy never seemed great*. Turns out he wasn't even good.

Only one SB appearance with arguably the most talented QB in league history.

    *Disclaimer- SNF @ NRG

I think it was probably just time. He'd been there a long time.

Yes, Rodgers is a great QB. But they struggled filling in the gaps. Also seemed like too reliant on Rodgers making a play, using an older offensive scheme other teams probably caught up to...particularly as all their receivers left. So, when he couldn't always make them....they started getting losses.

They may struggle for a year or two with new coach, given the roster. Then Rodgers will be....2 years older.

I was in Lambeau for today’s game. It looked to me like the Packers were out to prove it was McCarthy’s fault. Philbin wants the job and he’s going to placate Rodgers to help him keep it for more than the rest of this season.

They definitely looked good today. They need to badly fix their defense but, offensively with #12, they’ll be fine.

I think it's been obvious that McCarthy held them back offensively. And it's more glaring now with the rule changes in the secondary. They were up like 30 at one point and Rodgers' first throw was a missed bomb to Adams instead of a run to kill clock, lulz. Things should be fun in Green Bay.

O'Brien I feel is doing the same here. Instead of letting the QB play, he's capping the offense. Playing a bit too safe.
