Is it worth it? I just got a letter in the mail from TXU today trying to get me to switch from Reliant. As a bonus they will waive the security deposit and also save $50 off the first months rent if I sign up by March 31st. Any thoughts?
I switched to TXU a couple of months ago....I really think they are cheaper regardless. If money wasn't an issue, I'd use GreenMountain Energy though.
I wouldn't necessarily trust the marketing campaigns (which is obviously why you came here to ask for advice). Go here for more info... If renewable energy is important to you, Green Mountain isn't the only REP offering it. Look at all the companies before making a decision. http://powertochoose.org
I checked the web sites for all of the major energy companies in Houston and GEXA proved to be the cheapest.
I use Gexa. I get an employee discount on my electricity because my company does a lot of business with them. They are cheaper and I haven't had any problems with them. I'd recommend them.
I have TXU and have not had any problems either. Not sure if its the cheapest, didn't do much research on it.
I switched to Entergy from Reliant. No monthly fees like TXU and the 2nd lowest rate I believe. Plus it's locked in for a year. Entergy Sweet Solutions Plan
