80's music gets a bad rap sometimes (deservedly so in some cases, I'm looking at you Hair "Metal"), but there were great songs back then. Possibly my favorite:

Although Duran Duran was top 40 and got lumped in with all the synth & pop music, the real truth is that they were (and are) a very well balanced band. They use synth, but they're not just synth. They use guitar, but they're not a guitar rock band. Yeah, their clothes and images certainly date their videos (common for all videos and all generations), but they have a lot of great bass lines and drum beats that complement their music. It's these qualities that have made their songs timeless. This one is an excellent example:

Duran Duran was great. My first "CD" (I only bought cassettes before) was the Wedding album. Although not exactly an 80's album since it was like '92 or '93, it really showed their diversity

I know these aren't 80's song, but I gotta rep a couple of the best songs from the band

New wave is simply, the ****

Edit: Ive always said simply that 80s music is the happiest time of music there will ever be. All the songs are upbeat and put you in good mood.

    Obligatory:
