1995 Rockets Championships have never been mentioned in the current media They have successfully erased the general public's mind that it happened. They have erased that Michael Jordan did play in 1995 and got beat by the Magic. This anti Houston Rockets theme is nothing new. There are two major media cities, LA and NY. We beat the Knicks and the media has never recovered with their distaste.
To be clear I think That was exactly my argument. I literally said “the rockets are bad for business”. However I posit that it isn’t just that they aren’t a “big market team” (they are), it’s that they actively threaten the teams that make nba national media money.
Idk I just saw a whole bunch of commentators on national media defend Harden from MaClean for like the past two days so....
At no point did I say there was a conspiracy. A conspiracy would require a group of people coming together to agree to do something nefarious. I think there’s a group of people who have the same goal (to get clicks, viewers, and advertising dollars) and have thus come to adopt the same practices. But its clear that you want to reduce my argument down to that so you can belittle me on the Internet (and not have any actual discourse). Good work. My feelings are hurt.
ESPN is really biased, Thank goodness someone created this site and invited only pure fans to join @Os Trigonum
No conspiracy, just a group of people who've adopted the same method to attain the same goal. Got it. Sorry I hurt your feelings.
Don't waste your time about the media bias against Houston. Really, it's not worth it. Let's hope the Rockets get a championship. Think big.
Do you know what a conspiracy is? By this logic, all gas stations who sell chips are in a conspiracy. Because they have the same goal: make money, they adopt the same methods: sell concessions people buy.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combined_statistical_area 9th. I don't know why people always look at city popuation's. The correct way to look at population in a market is the CSA to take into account everyone that actually contributes to that market. Many people live in the burbs of Houston that actually contribute to the market size of Houston. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_television_markets 7th if you want to go by TV markets.
Yes but not uniquely. There are 20 something teams that threaten it. If that's what you meant we're on the same page.
Yes, if a lot of people say "Trump is better" or "Hillary is better" or "Giannis is better," that does not constitute a conspiracy.
I think that's undeniable at this point. 90% of all anti-Harden stuff is being posted here. Maybe 10% of pro-Harden makes it on here. Even if you are not on an algorithm-based platform, you are on a platform filtered through it. There's so much pro Harden pro Rockets content I watch all the time. There's a lot of ignorance and a lot of dislike of our style, but the ignorance is not unique to our team and the dislike is not unreasonable.
