This should definitively end the MVP debate: https://www.google.com/amp/s/syndic...n-nba-locker-rooms-giannis-or-harden.amp.html This quote is a dagger for Giannis: "Late game, Giannis doesn't have the ball in his hands to win," Magic guard Evan Fournier said. "For an MVP, that's kind of hard."
No one wants to see Giannis with the ball within eight feet of the basket; no one wants to see Harden with the ball, period. They respect the Greek Freak; they fear The Beard. not my MVP "Late game, Giannis doesn't have the ball in his hands to win," Magic guard Evan Fournier said. "For an MVP, that's kind of hard." Windhorst needs to expand who he talks to about Harden beyond Lebron... Clippers forward Danilo Gallinari was quick to give the nod to Harden. Again, it was Harden's ability to get a basket whenever needed that mattered most. "They're different players," Gallinari said. "James is an amazing scorer. He can score in every way imaginable. He doesn't have weaknesses. To have the Rockets doing so well in the West, I would vote for him." "To me, it's Harden," Leuer said. "People say his numbers are inflated because of D'Antoni's system, and he dribbles the air out of the ball, but carrying his team every night no matter who is out there, you can't go against that. The team thing does factor in, which is why Giannis has to be considered. But the knock was the Rockets were a lower seed, and now they're one of the top four in the West. I just don't see how it's not James." Denver Nuggets center Mason Plumlee shared the same perspective. "It doesn't matter who is in or out," he said. "If they're picking up and playing a guy on a 10-day or what, James makes his team better every night."
game recognize game...anyone with some common sense knows that Harden should be the MVP without question people keep pretending that Giannis has an actual case over him...I call bullsh*t on that, because we all know if someone the media actually liked was having Harden’s season there would be no discussion about this award...Giannis would be totally irrelevant...actually, let me take that back, there would be a discussion...the discussion would be about if we’re gonna have another unanimous MVP winner if Giannis wins, that trophy should have Coach Bud’s name on it in bold print People are really trying to act like 27, 12, and 6 compares to what Harden is doing or even comes close. Are u fcking kidding me? We’ll be talking about Harden’s season a decade or 2 from now. We won’t even be talking about what Giannis did 2 years from now.
Guys forget about it. Its a wrap. Giannis got this, wrongly or not. Lets focus on winning the Championship now.
Yea but hardens game is “cheating” the nba. I don’t care how great his stats are, it’s not fun to watch for me. He’s a no defense, chucker despite what stats say. - some idiot with a vote
It's all about narrative. At the beginning of the season, you almost wonder if some sort of memo goes out; actually, it would be verbal, to avoid a paper trail. This is who we want to promote. Don't get me wrong, I'd love Giannis on the Rockets, I have nothing against him. It just seems the talking heads create a narrative and will say or write anything to fit into it: "Two way player," "plays the right way," "team has XYZ wins" (this one has some legitimacy), "etcetera etcetera." Harden's team started the season with detritus to fill the void of Trevor Ariza and provide backup to CP3. Then traded away the detritus. Then plugged in cast-off players. All the while CP3 and ClinCap missed significant time. And yea, Harden shall carry them.
Pretty impressive article from Bucher. Perhaps we have another SPLIT MVP vote (Media / Players) since the 1st Curry / Harden MVP battle.
Good read overall. The constant wow moments and heroics for James makes what should be for a no brainer win. Too bad you have the wrong people voting. Surprised Steph is in Harden’s corner.
Only case Giannis has is that his team have the better overall record and his stats are solid for any normal MVP season. But Harden stat this season is godlike, Historic and will b remembered for years to come. If u always voted for best player on the best team and never deviated from historic season kudos to you. It's those voters that voted for WB for his historic season and are now flip flopping to the best team/best player while out right shtting on Harden's season = Hypocrites that shouldn't be allowed to vote. Honestly I would vote for Harden or anyone that puts up his stats w/ a high seed. It's just people make shtty excuses to disqualify Harden just b/c they don't understand/like his playstyle.
not even coach Bud wants the ball in the Brick Freaks hands if its less than 24 seconds to go and they are trailing by 3
I said it first! I expect Giannis to win the MVP and Harden to win the Player's Voice MVP. Harden would have claimed 3 out of the 4 PVMVP's awarded to date while only winning 1 MVP award in that span. It's pretty clear what's at play here. The media doesn't respect Harden the way his peers do.
Steph has a lot of respect for Harden he alwsys has. They were in the same draft and I believe reading in Curry’s first mvp were he edged out harden that they got to know each other at some rookie stuff those guys do when their drafted. Plus curry is a champ 3x at that and a 2x mvp he knows who really pushes his team and it’s alwsys been harden. I know they get frustrated about harden but they respect what he’s doing Forsure.
He wants to recruit Harden after the 2022-2023 season.. He knows Harden will still ball out when he's 33.. and he knows he won't have Durant and possibly Thompson too... Then his weakness will show..
