Broadcaster says James Harden is cheating the game

1. James Harden I think will win the MVP because of this dumb take alone.
2. Media will be all over this, Media could switch to James Harden
3. LeBron James, Michael Jordan played the same way, Michael Jordan last few minutes of the game was Iso offense go with the Final Shot or a Assist to Paxson or Kerr for a 3 pointer, his last shot with the Bulls was a ISO Shot midrange in the Finals.
4. James Harden needs to destroy teams in the playoffs, have a relentless Killer Instinct in taking games.
5. NBA Finals MVP would mean more to James Harden

 

I'm not one of those people that screams "racist" about everything, but I just do not understand why Harden gets so much hate. He doesn't play dirty, he doesn't talk trash, and he really doesn't whine that much. The only thing I can think of is that people don't like his game because he's a black man that plays a white european style, and people don't like it.

I know, this is a really hot take but I am really WTF on why everyone dumps on this guy instead of just admitting that he's incredible.

 

His opinions really do confuse me. The rockets were the #1 record last season, might get 2 seed this season, but this isn't winning basketball? How can you hold an opinion so directly against a stat as obvious as record? Is it because it fell just short of beating the most stacked team in NBA history in the Warriors?

Never mind that this brand of basketball played by this Houston team came closer to beating the KD-era Warriors than every other team combined in the last two years. Never mind that it actually pushed them to the brink while every other system didn't come close- never mind all of that.

If LeBron were doing it the media would love it, so I don't think it's a race thing.

 

Think again... First Take already on it. No one can admit that James Harden is UNGUARDABLE. Makes me think they've never played pickup. When you get fouled constantly at LA Fitness, you know he can't guard you. None of them are willing to say that James is unguardable / unstoppable. They also strip out the actual game footage from the clip and overlay it with their own vid clips because the guy was literally saying it as the Clippers were executing beautiful ball movement that yielded only in misses. "That's the kind of play that I want to see *brick*". Super cringe and all the more reason they should have shown it but didn't. It's always glass half empty when it comes to James' play.

I've heard Eddie on Sirius XM emphasize that James is a BALLHOG therefore he will never get his MVP blessing. James is so inefficient as a shooter. Puhlease! Has been. Only time I liked him was when he was on our team in the late 90's.

Harden has been painted as a villain because people need someone to root against. Casual NBA fans and reporters like Chris Broussard are so basic that it's really not hard to manipulate them into following any agenda you need them to. Just scroll through ESPN's Twitter timeline, and see how easy it is for them to play it all out.

James Harden Impact in the NBA is global, and his beard honestly inspired the whole world to grow theirs, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Anthony Davis, Chris Paul, the Astros, the Red Sox during their Curt Schilling team, Dallas Keuchel, Evan Gattis, Brian McCann, Cuttino Mobley, even actors, singers are comfortable having a beard. James Harden literally is fearless of the backlash of having a Fully Grown Beard. In Pakistan and India it's a trend to have a beard, clean cut and trimmed makes it look nice.

 

Until Harden wins a title, this narrative in the national media will never change.

 

To be fair, it’s because the lakers do not play that way. Magic said when he brought him here he did not want to play the style he had in Cleveland, so the ball was not in his hands as much. Then on top of that the lakers were the worst 3pt shooting team in the league. It’s a lot harder to ISO with no spacing.

 

This is the perfect example of what happens when you put a superstar in a system that doesn’t maximize his talents. You lose and miss the playoffs.

Magic might as well say “We do not want to play the style of championship basketball that allowed Lebron to dominate the Eastern conference for a decade.”

The Lakers will miss the playoffs again next year too with that attitude.

My fear is that if we win it all, which will involve straight up snatching it from GS, that they will then diminish the win because "Harden cheats". This nonsense is going to overshadow James out-playing the biggest dynasty in the last 20 years.

If James goes out and slays the dragon he will still not be seen as the hero.
