Bottom line, SF and CM have to go in order for the rockets to win! this isn't the first time that SF lost the game or CM lost the game....they were jacking up crazy threes all night! F@&* these two guys and blame Rudy T for training these two to do what they're doing now! I hope SF and CM get traded by next week!

    Why Mobley?

Mobley has some problems. And they're exacerbated when he tries to be a star. He shoots too many bad shots... but so do many SGs.

But he's improved. He takes fewer bad shots. He's more controlled on the drive. And while he doesn't dump it to Yao as often as I'd like, he's adjusted.

Last season, I thought Steve made progress and Mobley was stagnating. This year, Mobley has shown a real willingness to adapt, and has done so with some success.

Someone finally found a way to blame another loss on Rudy.

It's sort of like blaming a criminal's parents for his actions. There may be a lot of truth to it, but in the end it doesn't make any difference in the here and now. Being an adult is taking the hand you were dealt and dealing with it yourself. There are, of course, cases so extreme it's insurmountable, but that isn't the case here.

See the picture instead. I'm sure JJ had a better chance hitting the 3 instead of SF running around.

I could have said what I'm going to say in any of the Steve-bashing threads, which are plenty lately. But this is as good as any.

I am not a Francis hater, at least not originally. As recent as maybe a year ago, I still thought the question of whether Kobe was a better player than Francis was at least debatable. I had defended him. I am still defending his rebounding talent. But I have to say I am becoming more and more disappointed in him, to the point that I want him off my team.

I can understand that he had to adjust to playing with Yao last year. And he has to adjust to playing with a new coach with completely different style this year. In fact, I don't mind him not always playing at the top of his game. But, what bothers me is his attitude. Yes, he said that he wanted to win badly. He said that he needed to involve his teammates more. He even looked like he's trying very hard to fit into JVG's game plan. But it seems to me, deep down he is not convinced that he needs to change anything in order to be a great basketball player. He still doesn't "get it."

In the past week or so, what's been amazing on this board is that there are still some people trying to give excuses for Francis. You know, if Yao did something dumb and a poster tried to blame it to someone else, he would be quickly labeled a YOF. I found that there were actually some Steve-Only-Fans here, by the same standard. Not as many as YOFs, but SOFs are out there.

Earlier, when there were lots of YOF debates, some YOFs tried to labeled some other posters as SOFs. I thought that was real silly. I thought there was no such thing as SOF. I mean, what does Francis have to command Only-Fans?

Yao is one of the (if not the THE) tallest player who ever possesses any real basketball skills. He is the very first Asian player who has a chance of making it to the NBA Hall of Fame. On top of that, he's got a very likeable personality. It is understandable that Yao will attract many who don't follow basketball very much, let alone following the Rockets. He is truly unique. In fact, I could only think of three other players that had the same uniqueness to command Only-Fans: Wilt, Jordan, and Shaq (Kobe could be a fourth).

Boy, was I wrong. There are still people defending Francis with total abandonment. They are still trying to shift the blame on his mistakes to the coach or other things. That phenomenon of SOFs just left me scratching my head.

If anyone of you SOFs are actually Francis himself, please listen: Stupid people can be smarter by just doing fewer stupid things. But the really stupid people are just incapable of knowing that they are stupid. Steve, please prove that you are not the latter type, because I am at the brink of giving up on you.

    Excellent, ghost2003!

Based on the picture, it looks like a faked shot and then a quick pass to JJ would have been the best option.

    Great picture.

This defeats anything that the likes of Juugi and Fah00 have to say.

Absolute ditto. I hate to admit it, as I hate labels in general, but there is no other way to explain some of the arguments in here since the Super Bowl.

I was watching it while riding a bike at gym last night. Then I cursed so loud after Steve's play... Everyone was like 'what's wrong with you?'

Who was supposed to guard Ginoblli in the last 3 minutes?
That would be my "Goat of the Game"

You can add the end of 3rd quarter to that list - Steve dribbled from one end to the other during the last 10 seconds with Bowen on him - went to lane against Bowen with Duncan standing there waiting and they both blocked his shot - no foul. Rox did get ball back with 2 sec - left - but the opportunity to run a quality play - was dribbled away.

Francis holds true to his words, "I'm gonna play the way I want to play". My question is, how much longer will the Rockets as an organization put up with this?????? Our "best" player:
    1. Shows a lack of committment to the team
    2. Disrespects his coach
    3. Doesn't learn from his past failings so that he can improve,
instead, freely admits that he will repeat those same
mistakes over and over again given the opportunity
The day that the Rockets take that next step into becoming an elite team is the day that Francis is playing somewhere else.

Jordan used to do that a lot and had a lot success. Now Steve is trying to do the same. But there is one big difference: Steve is no Jordan. Not even close. Jordan jumped higher, stayed longer in the air, shot a lot better , and most importantly, actually passed the ball if he saw teammates open.

what, your going to say yao is the biggest hussler on the team. Guess what!! Stev leaad the team in rebounds yesterday. And made REALLY important plays that made us surging back. Steve is obviously the most hardest working player on the team. But some of that blind hard work and effort does make him do some quite queer things.

So will the Rockets stick it out until the Summer or will there be a trade?

I'd take Bobby Jackson and a 1st round pick in a minute for SF.

Clearly looking at the picture, a little penetration and a kick out to JJ would have been 10x better than Steve's Moochie impersonation.

His +++'s are severely outweighed by his ---------'s.

I've lost all patience with Francis...
