I have t looked but if you google playername espn splits it shows starter vs bench stats. I don’t know all the detailed stats either... but... I’ve been against the EG starting expirement from year 1. More than the Nene injury itself I think MDAs decision to react to that against the Spurs by moving EG into the starting lineup was what ultimately doomed that series. I prefer EG off the bench to start for the reasons mentioned. More bench firepower. More size at Wings to start the game and grab boards and be more defensively versatile. Better balance of the guards. As others have noted, this doesn’t mean you ignore the 3 guard lineup... just that you get there differently. And it definitely matters. How you finish is more important but you have to get there. With the way House has been playing I like CP3, Harden, House, Tucker, Capela backed up by Rivers, Gordon, Green, Faried, Nene. Obviously MDAs job to manage the rotation within that.
.. House pretty much saved the season when he started, guys are healthier now ,why is this EG starting stint still going on. Who is the 6th man if not EG.
Either 6th man (which he excelled at) or starting as a "whatever he is," I just wish they'd sit him if he's hurt. I didn't realize what was wrong with the guy until after the game. He had a bum ankle, tha bum ;-) and not only couldn't drive effectively, it clearly impacted his shot. He shouldn't have played, in my opinion. That's on MDA.
He hurt the team vs. the Bucks. He absolutely should have sat down and told MDA that he's done. I'd much rather have House and Clark in there for size, defense and shooting vs what EG was able to provide. It's going to be tough to hold on to the 3rd seed but we need to be healthy too. Balancing that isn't easy. That terrible off season through the start of the season continues to haunt this team.
thank goodness for that because the rise of hofers would of made this board insufferable...it already started to remind me of LOF days and the epic disturbance in the cf field
I think this has more to do with everyone actually being healthy than lineups. Maybe I'm taking crazy pills but the flow of the offense and defense just doesn't look good to start 1st and 3rd quarters. We try to set Gordon up early but if he is clanking them we already go in a hole. I'd rather have use feature James early and get him a groove.
I was never a fan of inserting EG into the starting lineup. But the team's record has been great and it's undeniable that he shoots way better as a starter than a bench player. Sure, the health of the team coupled with House's return adding more depth are factors as well in the Rockets' stellar record over the last month and a half. But if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
This is the reason why fans need to understand the difference between the regular season and post season the post season is why you have proven veterans you the regular season you can worship your Daniel House's and your Zhou Qi's
Think you start your best basketball players together unless it becomes a height/defensive issue. In this case, Gordon does qualify for starting. And hasn't been shown as a liability on the defensive side.
Were you there to worship rookie Sam Cassell? How about Robert Horry? I sure as hell was, and I pity those that said they were just rookies and didn't give them a chance. Fanatics should get excited for their young players, it is part of the ride.
Yeah but when their young players suck in the post season and get dropped to DNPs That's not Sam Cassell and Robert Horry They were pros like Eric Gordon They aren't G-LEAGUE CALL UPS WHO b**** ABOUT CONTRACTS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEASON
