I was tempted to start a thread called "Anyone who saw the game tonight knows it's not House's fault that we won."

Guess his wrist is better... Outstanding performance from Rivers tonight. I hope he can take a bit of the load from Harden and Paul, these last few games, and keep them fresh for the playoffs.

The OP forgot to put a @ in front of Mathloom. The dude being called out doesn't even know his name is a thread title.

I’m not on either side here and don’t even know what the dispute was about.
But is this half joking? Because jumping on someone after one good game can backfire, and has backfired

Rivers having 1 great offensive game since forever doesn't qualify for making a thread gloating for playoff minutes

Of course he should. Rotation should be:

    Paul/Rivers
    Harden/Green
    Gordon/House
    Tucker/Faried
    Capela/Faried

Depending on matchups, play Nene instead of Capela. If House can develop some more consistency, then start him over Gordon.

Wow a whole thread dedicated to me?? Sweet!

Despite the great game he had, Rivers is still shooting 39%, 31% and 54%. He scores 7.2 points on 6.7 shots. Mediocre passer, poor rebounder. Goes to the line 1.6 times in 23 minutes, and misses almost half his freebies.

For the month of March, he is 42.5%, 28.2%, 40% for 6.4 points on 6.1 shots to go with 1.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 23 minutes.

Everything he brings defensively is negated by how horrible he has been offensively. I hope he plays better on a consistent basis. I have to believe OP was drunk to start a thread based on literally one great game.

I don't even know which post he's talking about, but I've said in general that Rivers is not a playoff rotation worthy player.

There are 96 minutes in the backcourt. Even assuming Harden plays in the front court a significant amount of time, those 3 will easily consume 90 backcourt minutes. This apparently was too controversial for OP.

    What's River's EFG%?

    Looked it up it's .513.
The average EFG in the NBA is .523

Not awful but can we do better? Gotta say he's a good defender. House is the obvious number 1 choice off the bench.

Comparing him to our other options

    Player %EFG
House. .608. (.492 with Suns last year)
    Green. .534. (.540 last year)
Rivers. .513. (.477 with Wiz .500 with Clips)
    Shumpert .442 (.489 with Sacramento)

Going off EFG% I think House and Green should be our 2 wings. Though you can argue Green vs Rivers defensively.

Faried and Nene will also get minutes.

Thats probably our 8 man rotation.

I would play Rivers but my, “pull the rip-cord” hand would not hesitate if not effective early.

Rivers is a sure target of “Hack-a-Rivers” tactic that will slow our momentum and rhythm in the playoffs.
Rule of thumb is hitting 50% of free throws in a game works against the team employing the tactic.

Question is: will Rivers rise to the occasion and shot 50% or better.....or shrink? Under the pressure of the PO’s.

he REALLY needs to work on his mechanics. if he makes them a lot more tight, then he'd always be a positive on the court. the problem is just the nature of his streakiness. if he can just hit a more CONSISTENT clip of 3's, it'd be deadly as he can play both with harden and CP3.

we're going to have some interesting decisions on how to spend our MLE this summer and with CP3 (and Harden) getting older, I bet Morey will want to keep their loads a light as possible.

For me Rivers has to play, plays hard and good defense, not a great shooter but you can say the same for other players, and he's the only player that can beat his defender off the dribble aside for Harden, Paul and Gordon.

I don't know who's going to be out of the rotation in the playoffs, but for me as today that guy would be Shumpert, i was ok with him when we got him but i don't know, it's like he's not fitting as well as i thought so, if i would be forced to make a name, he would be the one for me as today.

How does a coach's son not shoot free throw better, or have a better shooting form for that matter?
