I think he meant Doug Collins, who is often confused with the other Doug, that defensive specialist from Sacramento.

When Steve dribbles out a clock like that no one knows where to cut or drift to.... he takes up half the floor with all his dribbling. One or two quick moves should be all it takes to get inside with his athleticism. He needs to take lessons from Ginobli just cut and drive fearlessly.

NP...Sorry I used more than 5 words, though. I know how that bothers some people. ;)

I bet JVG is thinking "I better save a timeout next time" and if you ask him he will admit it. On the other hand, SF thinks "I will do it again next time to prove you all wrong". SF is too stubborn.

I agree with this... Stevie likes to dance with the ball going side to side, whereas Mobley goes in a straight line and knows when there is space to shoot (whether it would be a good shot or bad) but in this situation, having Mobley shoot a quick shot as he is used to doing, would be preferable to Stevies dancing towards the end of the quarter... maybe VG should start looking at Cat as an ISO option at the end of quarters/games with Yao setting the pick.

That's Steve's biggest problem: He won't even acknowledge that there are things he could do better, or areas in which he can improve. The guy really thinks he's on the same level as the greats.

Do you remember the last time the Rockets were in the playoffs? The Chuck Wagon was on the court. On one play, he took up his favorite spot on the floor and held out his hands for the ball. It was Mobley's first year, his first and so far last trip to the playoffs. Mobley didn't even look at him, just ran past and blew a layup, with Barkley shaking his head as he and the rest had to run back on defense.

As Steve represents the same sort of player, I'm sure he could reserve a sad head-shake for Steve, too.

Someone also mentioned JVG burning timeouts. True enough, but would he burn so many timeouts if his team knew how to play basketball?

Is there are stats showing how many dribbles by each team during the game. I can bet the Rox are number 1.

I thought I heard Charles say positive things about Yao last night...I definitely think their attitude towards the Rox have changed since JVG has taken over, but with Steve's bad year and everything, its just magnifying the situation...

    Go Rox!!!
