I hope the Rockets and the cable/satellite folks know not to black out this game...

I remember what happened the first game of the year against Denver when most of the 1st qtr was blacked out.

I believe this is the 2nd time TNT is showing a Rockets home-game.

    Is it not a sellout?

That would be a disgrace to the fans... if it were not a sellout vs. SAS.

KNWS is not showing this game, games on TNT are only shown on TNT.

I'm pretty sure for playoff games atleast, there will be a blackout unless there's a sellout. That's why you see Randalls buying like 400 tickets before the game a few years back. I think the same applies for nationally televised games but I'm not sure.

    wizkid,

I think you are right regarding the playoff games. Playoff games need to be sold out in order for national feed to be shown to the local audience of the home team.

wizkid... the "few years back" you're talking about was ELEVEN (11) years ago.

I remember it clearly... game 5 against the Clippers (1st round) on NBC of the 1993 playoffs.

They actually did it the following year as well, during the memorable "Mother's Day" game against Phoenix... but that was still 10 years ago.

Man... has it been that long?

Regardless... the NBA has had a few changes w/ its television contract since then, and one of them invovles no blackouts on national tv games.

    Everybody repeat after me ...

"The Rockets don't black out any games. Every game they've played has been available locally for year and years ..."

Tim, Repeat After ME. The Game was blacked out on KNWS. I don't pay money for crappy cable stations, I think its horrible that I can't watch a Spurs Rockets game in Toyota Center. It just means I'm drinking and driving listening to gino on 610, I don't have money for drinks at the bar for non sound games

basically I have no money and a tv with UHF,

    this TNT stuff is crap.
