Maybe, maybe no... IMO Coco the terrier has a good shot at best in show! Hey GV any suggestions for an apartment dog? The wife and are have been contemplating getting one but just don't know which. Maybe I should just take your dog quiz?
Damn mc, I was about to start a thread on WKC this morning... Les the Pekingese won best in group for the toy group for the second year in a row. He's gonna win best in show for Mazzy tomorrow night!
How do you pronounce Weimeraner? Are Weimeraners those silver/grey dogs? If this is the same kind of dog as the silver one in my neighborhood, then I think I was right when I thought my girlfriend and her sister pronounced the dog breed name incorrectly. They pronounced it like this: Wine-ah-mer but it looks like it would be pronounced different, am I right?
Weimaraner - '”why muh rah ner” or, if you prefer the German way, ‘vy muh rah ner” Weimaraners were bred to be personal hunting companions, retrievers and tracking dogs. When the breed was developed initially by the noblemen of the Court of Weimar, it was to hunt and track big game. When the land holdings in Weimar diminished, pointing dog stock was introduced into the breed and they evolved into a bird dog. They have very keen noses, and although not big running field dogs, they excel in their ability to find birds and to be a true personal hunting companion; pointing birds and retrieving birds.
Fred Willard was GENIUS in that movie! He delivered every line flawlessly! Some quotes from IMDB: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Buck Laughlin: Now tell me, which one of these dogs would you want to have as your wide receiver on your football team? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Buck Laughlin: Man, I wouldn't want to go out on a date with Miss Judge Eddie if she was going to handle me like that. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Buck Laughlin: Tell me, do you know the difference between a rectal thermometer and a tongue depressor? Nurse: Uh, no. Buck Laughlin: Remind me never to come to you for a physical! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Buck Laughlin: I went to one of those obedience places once... it was all going well until they spilled hot candle wax on my private parts. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Buck Laughlin: I don't think I could ever get used to being poked and prodded. I told my proctologist one time, "Why don't you take me out to dinner and a movie sometime?" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Buck Laughlin: Doctor, question that's always bothered me and a lot of people: Mayflower, combined with Philadelphia -- a no-brainer, right? Cause this is where the Mayflower landed. Not so. It turns out Columbus actually set foot somewhere down in the West Indies. Little known fact.
I took this quiz four (five?) years ago before we got a dog. We lived in an apartment at the time, so we wanted a dog that would be happy in a relatively small space. The breed selector recommended a Westie. We'd heard good things about them (plus, they're pretty dang cute) so we got one. We've since adopted two rescue Westies. They're definitely not for everyone, but they are a perfect fit for us. Good luck!
That's awesome! I've heard really good things about those dogs. Hope you can add a dog to your family soon!
Yeah I've read alot about them. A friend of mine's family had one when we were growing up and I really liked the dog. They are some of the smartest dogs around, very athletic and playful. They also are big companions and like to follow their owner around. One website said "once you get a Vizla, you will never go to the bathroom alone again". I hope I can get my fence done soon, but I gotta do the roof and some other things first.
If anybody still cares, the Newfoundland won best in show last night...Don't think there are too many of these dogs in Houston, though...
I have a friend who lives in Katy. He, his wife, and their two very young children (2 years old and a newborn) live with 4 Newfies. He never has to fertilize his yard.
I was really pulling for the corgi! But my wife loved the newfi! Yeah! That's just what we need for an apartment dog!
