It's a true litmus test to see if a voter chose Westbrook in 2017 (or LeBron in 2018) but not Harden in 2019 (or 2015). I'm sure many voters will reveal themselves to be biased.

This is a huge point. We'd never hear the end of it.

I'd feel worse if Reggie picked Harden. Dude is dumb as rocks

I think a big part of it is that he hates the stepback, and thinks its a travel. He once said (on a podcast maybe? or some radio show) that the NBA talked to him personally and told him to stop calling it a travel while he is commentating games. They told him not to say stuff like "this one may have been a travel" or things of that nature, and that he shouldn't discuss it at all. He said that he thinks its a travel every time, and doesn't agree with the way that it's called. He doesn't like that Harden is "allowed to travel" and then went on to talk about how many more points he would have scored if he was "allowed to travel" back when he played. I think this is why he really just doesn't like Harden, he doesn't view him as legitimate.

Actually, no they were all over AD's dick at the beginning of the season. It was his year. When the Pelicans disintegrated the switched to their other preseason favorite Giannis. This was AD's year. Then it was Giannis' year. Games didn't matter. We gave that nasty trash Harden his MVP so he would go away.

that’s hilarious...the jealousy and envy of some of these former players is astounding...they really feel they could actually be on Harden’s level when Harden is more talented and skilled than they ever were

I bet T-Mac honestly believes he’d be averaging 35 ppg in “D’antoni’s system”

It's not Harden's fault that he has to evolve his game every year while shooting guards, past and present, can run through dozens of screens each possession to get open for a shot. Miller would be nothing without his team setting screens for him every night.

Exactly, said the man that had to play a Game 7 and knew who the ref would be before it happened.

It's a popularity contest. The voters can vote for anyone they want for any reason they want. I kinda wish they would do away with this award. But, the talking heads on TV and the NBA love this award. It's all they want to talk about.

Giannis is a worthy MVP candidate.

I wouldn't vote for him because I don't think the drastic change in the Bucks this year reflects some change in Giannis, it's a change in the team that comes from their coach.

But oh well. Giannis likely to win. Harden is not liked. It is what it is.

    Voters think

First 25 games of the season: Harden is not the most valuable.

Not the whole season, 70% of the season

Reggie doesn't like Harden because Harden's numbers have made Reggie's careers numbers a footnote. It's hard to say that Reggie was one of the best shooters ever when Harden pretty much doubles his 3 point shooting.

Interesting tidbit. Thanks for relaying that. Pretty sad but not surprising from Miller.

harden probably wont win because he already won one. giannis is a good story since he is in a small market.

we know harden is more deserving, but voter fatigue is a real factor.
