Over the last week or so, the saltiness of the water at our house has stepped up quite a bit. I can taste it in the drinking water that's filtered in the fridge and I can smell it when taking a shower.

So I started looking into a water softening system for the house, but when you google that nearly all of the results are scammy looking and/or very pricey.

I'm hoping CF has some recommendations. I'm new to this space and don't know what I should be looking for, and unfortunately don't have time to learn/research a whole lot. I'm assuming I can just install one and basically leave it alone - I definitely don't want some monthly service like one retailer was advertising.

2 story house with 4-5 people. Would like to put it in the garage.

Home Depot has a 15 GPM whole house model on sale now for $1,734. Pelican Water brand. Is that a decent price and product or no?

Reverse osmosis systems are great, expensive though.

Just saw your post @Haymitch, check your PMs

Also, I know nothing about Water Softeners. All I know is that they require regular maintenance and repairs can be expensive. The initial costs are way too high too. I wouldn't get one personally

There are two possibilities, the box drains at Oak Island actually lead to your house, and the treasure is buried there.

Or you now live in the ocean.

Both will be expensive, and one person still has to die before the treasure can be found, according to the curse.

Is Culligan in your area? We've had Culligan in couple of Minnesota houses and they work fine.
