Scored 30 or more against 29 out of 29 teams.
Scored 40 or more against 17 out of 29 teams.
Scored 50 or more against 5 out of 29 teams.
Scored 61 against the Knicks in MSG.

Number of games scoring 40 or more points SO FAR in the season: 25

    But the dude doesn't pass...

Assists per game rank: 7th in the NBA
(and we all know it would be higher if he had people that could make actually make baskets)
(5 games in a row with 10 assists a piece)

    But he doesn't play D...

Steals per game rank: 2nd in the NBA (by 0.02 steals per game)
    (1st in deflections, as well)
(Also, best post defender in the league, strangely.)

    This stuff is unreal.

This helps his argument and he should win, but people will ignore how wack Bucks' record is.

How did Chris Paul get 17 assists (and the W) against the Warriors with Harden out?

Come on now. Harden did what he does best, and there's nothing wrong with that, because he did it to an insane level. When times get tough, people return to their nature, and Harden's nature is to score more than to pass, although he's a pretty great passer too.

That is ridiculously amazing. People who are debating MVP should take a moment to think about that Harden stat, among other things that already make the case he's MVP.

Of course, we also mustn't forget The Streak, a feat that will rightly return to its proper level of absurdity even in Clutchfans' minds when we've had a little distance from it. Never forget that it came about as a result of James Harden being the entire Rockets team for a couple dozen games wherein we actually kept climbing UP the standings.

    Anyway, here's another scoring stat:
There have been 16 games this season where a player has scored 50+ points. James Harden owns 5 of those spots, including one of the only two 60+ games. Furthermore, no other player in the NBA has done it more than once this season.

And that is important because he is unguardable no matter what. Wilt would get 70 on a PE coach one night and the get 18 against Bill Russell. Its why his playoff numbers look normal. Than again, somebody might point out Harden's playoff showing and.....well damn I would say he's avg 27 ppg since being with the rockets in the playoffs. His clutchness on the other hand, hasn't been very clutch city.

These are the kind of stats that win MVPs lol. Seriously, remember the whole ****ing triple double **** with Westbrook.

"Harden's team has more wins and Harden is having an incredible season, but Westbrook is doing something that hasn't been done in so long, it's a triple double. Sorry Harden but Russ deserves the MVP"

Does anyone really care what Wilt did back in 1892? I know I don't. It wasn't the same level of competition back then. It was barely even the same game.

When people say that he is the best post defender how is that measured?

I'm not doubting it, I just do not know how they get that metric.

I think it's by points per play. If you look at players who have defended at least 75 post up possessions this year, there are 30 players who qualify. Of those 30 players Harden allows the lowest PPP (0.69). Opponents only shoot 38%, and he forces a turnover 21% of the time.

If you drop the requirement down to 50 post up possessions defended, you get 84 qualifying players. On that list Harden is actually in second place behind...that's right, you guessed it, Eric Gordon????

Michael Jordan scored at least 30 against every team during the 1986-1987 season, but there were only 22 opponents back then.

    Toronto
    New Orleans
    Charlotte
    Grizzlies
    Heat
    Magic
& the Timberwolves franchises did not exist back then.

So Kudos James.. you only had 2 chances to get 30 against the East. Jordan had many more opportunities against a field of 22.

I mean the guy just does what it takes to collect victories. Missing half the team, no worries I’ll average 40ppg and keep this thing afloat. We have Paul and Clint back, awesome, I’ll scale it back a notch and throw the lobs again. We’re the 3rd seed in the west despite scrambling to fill holes left and right. MVP is an understatement.
